Very old fashioned hotel, bad shower, breakfast and dinner was mediocre. Staff were friendly apart from one older lady with reddish hair. She seemed very short at breakfast this morning. Wouldn't stay again, very over price for what it is. Felt unsafe at times, generally didn't enjoy my experience here.

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The rooms are spacious clean and well furnished. The staff were all very friendly and most helpful. The breakfast was also good. There is no problem with parking which is located next door. The hotel is an older type of building with plenty of character and I would certainly...

I stayed at The New England Hotel for two nights on business. The staff are very friendly and the hotel does offer the use of a secure shed to store bicycles. I did not eat or use the bar in the hotel. There is free Wifi which is a little patchy in places. Both mine and my co-workers rooms were...

Very very cold, no hot water. Pretty pricey so would expect better. Reasonable size rooms and comfortable bed. The receptionist was very pleasant and accommodating; had to leave early and had breakfast brought up to us the night before which was a nice touch.

September 2014 Arrived around 7pm to an empty hotel. Waited 30 minutes, then a bar tender arrived - he could not answer where the receptionist or anyone was. Waited another 30 minutes. Finally, the owner arrived, and set me up. Room was average, but not bad for what I had paid. Unfortunately had a cold at the time, and was...

Never in my life have I encountered such ludicrous accusations and aggression from the man that worked here, left me stranded in the streets at 2am, had to get the police to collect my belongings because he was so unreasonable, when I informed them of the problem they weren't surprised and had dealing with him previously...this place needs shutting down....

I had 1 night at this hotel and i have to say it is up there with one of the worst hotels i have stayed in. The staff that i spoke with were helpful and polite and the food i ordered was tasty and well priced but that was as far as it went. The room was prison cell -like....

Excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Good central position with on-site parking. Clean, neat and tidy. Enough said, we would return. However, the hotel feels a bit tired and could do with rejuvenating.

First impression with the receptionist had one possible fault, making it feel not the most genuine of warm welcomes. Although she was fine there after and the breakfast was top class and well worthwhile. Bed was a bit soft, not completely comfortable and creaky. Basic I guess. Shower was good. Ideal location

It was a nice stay. Enjoyed it. However.. I don't like write 'bad' things about places but unfortunately I'll have to this time. It's not such a bad thing but it would have made a difference to me.. The bed we had in a room was way too noisy! You could hear the springs moving and crunching with every turn....
