#6 of 15 B&Bs / Inns in Gairloch
A boutique licensed guest house in the beautiful highlands, located on the famous North Coast 500. Great bar, great food, great atmosphere. A home away from home. Evening meals by arrangement using fresh local produce, lobsters and langoustines off the boats! Built in 1766, probably the oldest habitable building in Gairloch, character in abundance with a very eclectic art collection.

We loved Charleston house from the moment we arrived and 2 gorgeous little dogs were an added bonus (Gillian checked we were happy with dogs - we were thrilled to meet them!) The house is full of amazing art and travel trinkets, a wonderfully quirky modern selection in a beautiful old house. The downstairs snug to hang out in was lovely, the log fire and honest bar made for a very relaxing cosy evening. There's a pub just across the road for dinner which was handy and did good food. Our room was big with a view out over the water and full of more quirky decorations. The owners have a real eye for design! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!

Stayed here one night with our two dogs. Location is lovely right on the Harbour, Gillian the owner made us feel very welcome and was helpful but not over bearing, we were free to come and go as we pleased. Rooms are stunning although we only had a bath with no shower. There was a snug room downstairs with wood burner and honesty bar which was cosy and warm in on a rainy night with plenty of games to play if you wished. Overall pleased I liked it so much as was nervous about staying in a guest house but by far the nicest place to stay in gairloch.

Spent 2 lovely nights here, everything was exactly what we wanted ie contemporary, comfortable, substantial georgian house, welcoming hosts, delicious breakfast, waterside location, cosy bar with log burner and honesty box. In fact, if you're looking for tartan and bagpipes and Victorian style impressive decor, this isn't for you. Wonderful area for exploring, highly recommend the Badachro Inn and the brand new Gairloch museum. We'll be back

This is a lovely guest house in a fabulous location overlooking the water. Gillian is a lovely hostess who gave us a very warm welcome. The house is stunning with lots of wonky floors and quirks but full of interesting and eclectic ornaments, paintings and decorations. Breakfast was truly epic. Jonathan is a wonderful cook and served up food that was not only delicious but also gigantic. This is a great place to stay.

Booked, paid up front, then much later received a message saying they are "no longer able to welcome" us. Geez, I don't need a formal welcome but what is this all about? No explanation, doesn't more unprofessional than this. Caveat emptor!
