Got recommended to pop into this pub for a meal by the landlady of the Bed and Breakfast i was staying in. Wasn't disappointed. Cosy pub with log burning fire. Food was great. Will defo go back when in the area.
We booked last minute, and forgot to mention we were bringing a toddler. The landlord was concerned that we hadn't been allocated a big enough room, but it was fine - we take our own cot.

Old fashioned comfortable hotel. Good food, beer, wine. Ate in Jake's bar which I don't think has changed in 30 years. Excellent service. Walking this time but looking to return for a hunting weekend in the autumn.
We stayed overnight at the Royal Oak to break our journey from Cornwall to Derbyshire.
The dinner was excellent and reasonably priced. The included breakfast was amazingly good too and the other guests were pleasant.
