Review covers only a lunchtime experience. The service was weak, rushed, and lacked any personal touch. Staff were rushed off their feet, despite the few lunchtime guests. The food, whilst well presented, was more like convenience food, than what one would expect in an Exmoor pub. I would not return - there are many much better pubs in Winsford and...

Stayed here again for the 4th or 5th time, Cannot fault Paul and his staff. Our room was spotless and bathroom lovely. Towels and dressing gowns freshly laundered. Our evening meal was perfect especially after our 12 mile walk around Exmoor, the lower bar is perfect to just relax in and better still our sleepy spaniels had plenty of room...

Stayed here for one night on our trek across the Two Moors Way. Comfortable accommodation, friendly company in the bar together with a good evening meal followed by a tasty breakfast the following morning. Just what we were looking for after a long hard day's walking.

Visited again. For good reason. Food excellent lovely sirloin and cod. Yes somethings may look a bit tired but bear in mind the age of the inn. We love it here. We also enjoy the company of locals and visitors. All of whom are willing to chat.

I stopped here for a single night(with dog) when trekking Exmoor. The accommodation is excellent for the price, my room (6) was clean with nice decor, a lovely comfy bed with good facilities. The only downside was a leaking shower hose which made the shower useless, mentioned it on checkout so hopefully this is sorted by now. Room 6 has...

We stayed here for one night and found it to be a very good B&B. We had a good-sized, comfortable bedroom at the front of the pub, with a nice en suite bathroom. Decor and furnishings are traditional in style but not dated. There is free wifi, but the pub is large and so you may need to ask for...

We stayed here while walking The Two Moors Way. Our bedroom was stylish BUT there was lots of black mould around the windows, which were also running with condensation, and more black mould in the bathroom that was made worse by the fact that it was reflected ad infinitum in the mirrored walls. In addition, the lights only worked at...

This is one of the few places I have drunk/eaten where I have felt distinctly uncomfortable. The bar area is full of hunting trophies, hunting magazines and locals complaining about farmers not allowing the hunt on to their land. The bar man was straight out of central casting for the typical horror movie based in a moors pub, " I...

We had a lovely evening meal in the bar, and, with our dog, stayed in Room 9 on the top floor. Nice and quiet and large enough for the two of us plus pet! Very comfortable room and a superb home cooked breakfast. We also had two lovely walks from the hotel.
