Had such a great stay. The food and service were faultless. Had a beautiful room too. Would recommend to anyone for a special occasion as it is pricey but well worth every penny! The restaurant and dinner was the highlight of our stay

I presumably got a bad oyster in the restaurant while staying here and got horrible (and unmistakable) food poisoning symptoms during the night. The next morning, I was wiped out and badly wanted to stay in bed but thought I should (1) get some yogurt to settle my stomach before breakfast ended and (2) let the staff know. So I...

We are very disappointed to read your review but pleased to hear that many aspects of your stay were positive. As a company we do take our guests well-being very seriously and always offer to a call a doctor if a guest is feeling unwell in any way and for whatever reason. My friend and I went for a one night spa break at Ockenden manor and overall we had a very nice and relaxing break. We stayed in the Alex room which is in the main house. The room was very clean and decorated in a typical English quaint way. There were fresh cookies in the room when we arrived which...

we have eaten at The Ockenden twice before, an anniversary dinner and a 70th Birthday dinner. This time it was for my 65th birthday celebration. and as before, we were not disappointed. The whole experience was first class which we have now come to expect from a first class 2 Michelin starred establishment. The food is sublime and Chef Steven...

Chose Ockenden Manor after reviewing its website & its location, we booked a 3 night break over a weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday. From arrival we were disappointed, reception busy, no assistance with luggage, not a 5 star welcome. Our room Merrick was lovely, set on two levels it was spacious & well equipped. Our main disappointment was in...

We stayed for one night last month (March) as we had been given a voucher for the restaurant as a Ruby Wedding anniversary present. Originally we'd thought we would just go for the meal and stay in a local B&B but we were glad we changed our minds! We had a lovely room in the main building looking out over...

Thank you for choosing Ockenden Manor for your Ruby Wedding anniversary. I am delighted you enjoyed your Superior room with its views over the gardens towards the South Downs. I have passed your comments onto the pastry chef regarding the rhubarb and white chocolate cheesecake and know she will be delighted. Kind regards Adam

My friend and I booked a spa break here as a treat including discount on treatments and breakfast the next morning. On arrival you enter a lovely building and the staff were very welcoming. The spa was pointed out to us and that's when we discovered it wasn't attached to the main building which was a little disappointing. Anyway we...

Thank you for you review I am delighted that found your room lovely and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. We haven’t changed the rules and we have always welcomed children during family swim times which are 10am to 11am and 3.30pm until 5pm every day. We do have a relaxation area by the treatment rooms if guests wish for...

Afternoon tea was a huge disappointment. Cracked chipped milk jug. Broken wobbly cake stand. Luke warm tea. Uninspired amateurish cakes. Nice scones though. Odd sandwich fillings. Miserable staff. We felt awkward, not relaxed and happy. We thought we'd have a special time here, we should have, shouldn't we? Let down. Not worth the money. Needs a big shake up in...

I am sorry that you found our afternoon tea disappointing and we should certainly not have served any chipped crockery to you.
