Glorious sunshine in a lovely garden setting helped everyone's mood and forgave the slow and sporadic service! The food was very good indeed. My trout was apparently smoked in the shed at the top of their garden. It was served with a deep fried soft boiled egg and lovely asparagus and a funny green pannacota which was weird. The husbands...

Six of us had lunch here today. We sat in the garden and it was a glorious day. We waited 20 minutes for a menu as it had not been printed yet apparently because the fresh fish had not arrived. We eventually ordered but each course was a long time in coming and we had to ask them where the food...

This was my husband and my third visit. Last year we discovered it on the way to the Tamar Valley and thought it was so good we had lunch there on the way back home as well. It is a pub with rooms. The decor is tasteful and modern. There are lot of different areas, a bar area with high...

The Beckford has been a favorite lunch spot for many years but this was the first time I stayed there. The rooms are well appointed if a little on the small side, Very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was a little tight which made it easy to burn oneself on the hot towel rail - easily corrected by turning it off!...

We stayed here for one night on our way to Cornwall - and we loved it! We had a small room (which was actually rather large with a good-sized bathroom) and felt right at home. The room was well appointed, and we loved that they went beyond the basics - adding a Cadbury bar with the tea, the tiny bottle...

We did the local 4 mile walk in beautiful countryside before stopping for lunch at the Beckford Arms last Sunday. We all had a roast and I would go so far as to say that I think it may be the best roast that I've ever had - the meat was cooked to perfection and the trimmings were yum. Also...

Arrived at the pub and first impressions were great. The pub decor is beautiful and it had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Got to the table and nothing really grabbed our attention on the menu. The pub grub part of the menu was good and quite reasonable. The restaurant mains part of the menu was...

Spent three nights at the Beckford Arms after flying into Heathrow from Australia. It was the perfect base to adjust and relax. We had two rooms for our family of five, linked by a small hallway with its own locked door. Lovely comfortable beds and rooms; loved the attention to detail and the extra touches such as fresh milk delivered...

We stopped at the Beckford Arms on the way back from Bristol pretty much by chance, they had a cancelled room. It was a wonderful surprise: lovely room over looking the garden, beautiful meal crowned by an amazing pudding. we will definitely go back for a couple of nights next time!

A truly wonderful stay at the Beckford Arms. We couldn't fault a thing - the staff completely make the place and couldn't do enough. The food is incredible and one of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the village itself is very pretty. Can't wait to go back
