Came from Bentham, North Yorkshire, to visit family. The food was beautiful, the room was comfortable and warm. And the staff were welcoming and extremely friendly. The rooms are well equipped tv's, coffee and tea making equipment, bottles of water. Brilliant shower too! Will definitely be back!!

Absolutely delighted with our 3-day stay at this gem of a hotel. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming, lovely room, very tasty freshly cooked breakfasts and delicious evening meals. Just wish we could have stayed longer and can say without a shadow of a doubt we will stay here again when next in Dumfries and Galloway.

Stayed on business in the area. Made very welcome by the staff. The rooms are very comfortable with everything you'd expect. Wi fi a bit iffy but more to do with the recent floods I think. The food, both morning breakfast and evening dinner was very good indeed.

We were in Newton Stewart over the weekend arriving Sunday 1st of November to Tuesday 3rd November visiting friends. After the 5 1/2 hour drive from Aberdeenshire we were looking forward to relaxing before meeting up. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome, an easy check in and shown to our room. This is a small family run...

Just got back from a short break to this Inn and I can say that this is a very good Place to stay. The staff are always happy to help you. And the food is great value. The room is clean and a fair size. I will be going back as this is a relaxing place to be at.

Well, this might be a slight exaggeration, but our few days at the Black Horse may well have been the most fun we've had in a pub since I was allowed to drink - and that was a few years ago now. With many thanks to David, Keileigh, Lyndsay and Lisa (please forgive any spelling issues - I'm only a...

This hotel was a delight from the moment we arrived! Really friendly young lady, whose name unfortunately I have forgotten, welcomed us and showed us to room, which was beautifully decorated with a good sized bathroom, and all the amenities you would expect

The hotel is on a main street in town with sometimes heavy traffic. Staff was friendly and cheerful. The room was a bit small but comfortable and at the back of the hotel so quiet. There was free coffee and tea making facilities and free WiFi internet worked well. There was a nice cooked breakfast in the morning.
