We were booked into the Bruce Hotel by the organisers of the Wigtown Book Festival in which we were taking part. We arrived around 10:30pm and, after checking in, visited the bar. The young man (who was also on reception duty) couldn't have been more welcoming. We were made to feel completely at home. The facilities in the room were...

We just went for a meal and it was fine. I had the fish pie which was good, my husband had the pork & that was good too, both came with vegetables. We all enjoyed the deserts which included the usual sticky toffee pudding, plus treacle pudding, both excellent. The only comment I have is about the parking, a very...

Stayed in this hotel with 4 friends for 3 nights during a motorcycle trip. The staff were all friendly but the hotel was a bit tired looking with old decorations and fittings. There were very few staff on duty at any one time and this led to delays checking in/out and ordering drinks at the bar etc. Food was acceptable...

very good central hotel. First class staff, hotel slightly tired but staff more than made up for this. Would recommend. Dark park only 10 mins drive. Clean comfortable stay with nice bar and good meals. If you fancied a change there is a hotel just a few doors away with good beers selection

One night stop before catching the ferry from Cairnryan to Larne. It is only 30 mins away and they take dogs so convenient place to depart from. Clean comfortable rooms if a little dated and food in restaurant good. With friendly staff it has all you need for a one night stay. There is a 20 minute circular route walkable...

Decided to stop over in Newton Stewart for a few days and chose this hotel as I had stayed there previously. (Many Years ago). Found the hotel clean and comfortable. We had a second floor room which was quite hot. Also very noisy when other guests came back late. Room itself was fine although bathroom looked a little tired. Had...

From check in to check out nothing was too much trouble, rooms were larger than expected, clean and tidy toiletries were supplied as were tea, coffee and bottled water. The only let down was the shower not very strong power wise but was hot. Good choice at breakfast could even have Haggis!

I stopped here for tea with my mum and 3 children. We were greeted at reception by a really nice man who was very helpful and had great service throughout our meal! Food was lovely and they had a great kids menu with a good choice! I had the chicken and mushroom sauce which was cooked perfectly and my mum...
