This resort is ideal for adults who need to get away from the every day hustle and bustle. The staff is friendly and accommodations are good. The location is minutes away from the airport with beach next to it.
There are so many amazing things I can write about Sonesta Maho Beach. My son and I came for 10 days and it was one of the best vacations of our lives. Our room was beautiful and clean, the housekeeping staff was so nice and did a great job cleaning our room daily. We love the beach and the pool, the area is just breathtaking. The restaurants are all great, our favorite was the Buffett, there are so many options of delicious food, and so much variety and different themes of food. My son and I love the cute cats that are around, they are so sweet and we came each day to find them and give them love, I really appreciate a property that takes care of all wildlife. The staff at the restaurant were amazing, they would always bring our drinks as soon as we sat down, they made friendly conversation and were very accommodating. Last but not least my biggest recommendation and appreciation goes to the Entertainment team, especially: Sabrina, Clarine, Nehemias, Karensa and Nico. My son went to the kid’s club twice everyday and it was his favorite place to go, the staff are amazing, kind, professional and so friendly. They always went the extra step to make my son happy. And not just him, I often time saw them tending to kids who were sad or missed their parents and they would comfort the child until they would be back playing. It was a relief knowing I’m leaving my child and not have a worry in the world. I also love the creativity of the Entertainment team, Clarine came up with an UNO tournament which was a huge hit with kids and parents. Also duck races, bingo, trivia. Everyday there were so many fun activities to do with my son. I am so grateful we chose this resort, it exceeded all our expectations and I appreciate the hard working staff especially because I know their job is so difficult. My son and I experience was wonderful from beginning to end and we will definitely be back!!…
We had a great time on our vacation from the moment we stepped through the doors. We arrived on Sunday, January 15 in time to check in, unpack and hit The Latitude Bar to watch the Buffalo Bills game vs Miami. What a game and what a way to start our FVE trip. I can't say enough about Jardin and Gypsy for being such great hostesses and for the warm welcome and the laughs throughout my time there. Having our own little dance party at the Oasis pool, myself, Jardin and the family from Quebec. They were rocking the Sexy and You Know It song. Carlos, our bartender from The Palms, was on top of it. We didn't even have to say a word, he just did his refills LOL. My brother taught him how to make a Nutty Irishman drink. It was a hit. La Fontana's Itlian restaurant was fabulous. Right by the beach for that oceanview from the outside seating...breathtaking. From doing my early morning Bootcamp while the planes flew by to the Aqua Aerobics class at The Oasis pool, everyone was helpful, friendly and just had a postive attitude.…
We were there for 2 weeks (Jan 12 to 26). Absolutely loved it. Service is the best, food is excellent and entertainment was so good. Some of the great workers at Sonesta: Soooo many! Eddy from the lobby bar was our favorite! Also Daniel and Romaine in various bar. Pool: Mickel, DD ( Dieudonne), Santo and Alec at pool hut Palm bar: Alexandria. Fontana Bar: Keuric. Hostesses and Restaurant Staff: Kibibi, Natasia, Ann Marie, Zakiya, Maxima, Johmiah, Deidre, Ceceile, Rose Marie, Mina, and our favorite manager Paulina. John at the afternoon bbq
My partner and I just returned from 2 weeks at the Sonesta Maho Beach resort and Casino and we couldn’t have been happier to go anywhere else. As someone who has travelled a lot of the Caribbean, and surrounding area, this is my second time back here and it won’t be my last. The check-in was very efficient and our room was nice and clean, with all facilities working and we never had any issues there. The shower spills a bit but it has great pressure and temperature. The restaurants are all tasty with great service, just depends on what you feel like for dinner. Being there for two weeks there was only 2 nights that we left the resort for dinner. Would highly recommend Jings for the food and La Fontana for the dining experience. Now for the amazing staff at the resort. We both cannot say enough about them. By far one of the highlights of the trip was getting to chat and know some of these wonderful people. The team members we met were all fantastic. The village tavern bartender Muhandra was fun to hang out with during the football games, and great at his job. Beryl, Doreen and Marisole were all so welcoming and so helpful when we would dine there (or stay late having one too many drinks). Loved seeing all of them as we spent most nights there. Ebony on karaoke was a great host and fun to sing with. Jeneen at front desk was always very helpful and friendly. Eddy at the lobby bar made the evenings there so enjoyable with his sense of humour and smile. Dienandro (Double D) at the pool was our favourite, he was always willing to help and chat and get to know us. Mikel, Stephanie and Carlos were always quick to get us drinks with a smile on their face. Rose at the palms for lunch was friendly and accommodating. Sharon and Lorna were always checking up on us at the ocean Terrence, making sure our service and day were going alright. They always made sure everything was running smoothly and we really appreciated them. Johmeia, Dorian and the rest of the people who served us at ocean Terrence were all fantastic. Lastly, the island itself is a wonderful, safe place to vacation. As my partner and I are both small women this was such a great experience to be able to leave the resort with no fear or worry. The bus system is amazing. For $2pp you can travel anywhere from Phillipsburg to Margot and we spent many days just seeing all the beautiful things each town had to offer.…
This is our third trip. Daughter married here…didn’t realize there was a chance in dress code for one of the restaurants (Paulina)….turned away in dress shorts and v-neck shirt (for a man……wife was in a dress and heels)…….staff was amazing and accommodating otherwise!!!
Rooms are super clean, but they use a lot of fabulous and ammonia outside of the corridor and when they clean the floor so you can smell the ammonia. If your nose is good, you wouldn’t have to tell them do not use ammonia in my room. I did and I didn’t smell it anymore For food you always gotta find a mahi-mahi available Food is really good. People are friendly, If you wanna eat in Fontana restaurant, you have to dress They will not let you in The hotel in the middle of everything you can go to cup, Koyie mullet sometimes you find some nude mullet or cup copcoy Oh, the bus only two dollars microbus and when you get out of the airport, just walk to the street outside and you’ll find us is not more than four dollars from the bus to the hotel. Great great great place.
To make it brief, I will list our pros and cons. Pros: - Rooms were clean and good-sized - Restaurant servers were very helpful and friendly. - The pizza at the pizza shop was excellent. Cons: - Bed was very hard, but everyone. has different likes and dislikes. - The conditioner in the bathroom was empty and never replenished. despite several inquiries at lobby desk. - Our mini bar only contained regular Coke and Sprite. We asked for Diet Coke the first night and 4 more days until we finally received some at 9:30 pm on our 5th night. - Between 4 and 6 pm everyday when we were trying to shower for dinner, our shower would shut off after a minute of uncontrollable water. temperature and toilets could not flush. We were told that was a normal occurrence on the top floors. - We had to ask for toilet paper several times, our bathroom would have 1/2 a roll, and we were never. given another roll without calling. - The pool area near the waterslide smelled of sewage. - The food was sub-par and very often cold. While some of these things may seem like small inconveniences, we paid a lot of money for our stay and were very disappointed. …
Such a great resort . Super clean, rooms are comfy and ok size . Our room was located facing the mullet bay and that was great no noise issue. Food was the best I’ve had in all inc and we travel very often . Beach was a little rough some days and not for small children but mullet bay is a short walk away and that one worked well for us. Would recommend!
So close to the airport you can watch the planes land and take off from the beach. This all-inclusive has good food and plenty of it. You won't go hungry here! So many options and no reservations needed. I was here over Christmas and even then only the Christmas Eve Seafood Gala needed a reservation. The casino across the street was lucky and never too crowded to play. The market on the corner sells all you need from alcohol to souvenirs. The staff is fantastic and friendly and welcoming. The activities desk has great tours and excursions for good prices. The pool bar with Michal is always flowing and he knows your drink. The activities staff have games going on throughout the day. I won a bottle of champagne at a trivia game and a Sonesta water bottle at Bingo during pool side contests. It was a fun vacation!!!! I recommend going to the Sonesta Maho Beach!…
