We attended a friends wedding here, it was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere, the food was brilliant and service was prompt even with the numbers they were serving. We really enjoyed the entire day. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was a bother.

We’ve been staying at the Ceilidh Place in May for many years and it never fails to feel special. Nice bedrooms, interesting reading lists, friendly staff, excellent food, good beer, pleasant residents’ lounge, lively bar and a great bookshop. Perfect.

After a rough night in a Thurso Hotel we were a bit dubious about our second night touring the highlands, however we were truly delighted and Ullapool turned out to be a rare highlight of our week. Beautifully decorated, relaxing, great food for dinner and breakfast. No T.V's which was lovely as they promote reading with books in the rooms...

I actually spent a week in this nice hotel. The rooms are quite small but... the village is small as well :)... Everything is very clean, the beds are VERY comfortable (no back pain after 7 nights, YES!), the reception staff was always very responsive. The Ceilidh Place really fits the beauty of its surroundings. The only minus point goes...

We were expecting an above average experience for £144 per night bed and breakfast, instead we were underwhelmed. The bedroom and ensuite were both cramped, and the plumbing noises throughout the night made sleeping very difficult. It sounded like someone having a shower in a room above at frequent intervals. Someone vacuuming at 7.45am was also salt in the wounds...

We were recommended to try this for lunch by the village tourist office. The pub has a bookshop attached, which was an interesting adjunct, and there was a small art exhibition in the adjoining formal restaurant area. The bar was busy, the place is obviously popular. The layout was a bit cramped, with some tables on a slight ledge (watch...

We had two nights here, before and after the ferry over to Stornaway . As it was low season there was no live music but the ambiance was fantastic. The room was cosy and clean and dogs were welcome! There's a lovely lounge area with a kitchen to make a brew with an honesty bar. The artwork on show was...

We always go here while waiting for the ferry, mostly just for a cup of tea and a cake, although we have also stayed here in the past and found it very comfortable. The atmosphere is great, with a wood burning stove, but the service can be a bit hit and miss. I love the bookshop. The food is hearty...

We have visited thie Ceilidh Place before. Sad to say, we thought we'd give it another try again. Met by a friendly male member of staff....and it went downhill from there. Waited what we felt a bit too long for our meal. The lunch menu also seemed too restrictive. Meal was merely just ok and looked as though not a...

We went to a few places for food in Ullapool and this was one of the best. Really friendly staff, good atmosphere inside and comfortable. The menu was short, but with some top quality options. The halloumi skewers were delicious, the venison and rabbit pie was rich and full of huge pieces of venison. The mussels were tasty - could...
