I have just stayed with Annie for the second time, I was greeted with a warm hug like an old friend returning home. The hospitality was second to none I was made to feel like a guest in someone's own home. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and breakfast was excellent, I cannot recommend this place highly enough,... More

We stayed with Annie at the beginning and end of our Hebridean holiday. A very warm and friendly welcome, comfortable beds and a superb breakfast. Everything one could ask for staying with such a lovely person as Annie.

Arrived same time as another couple for same room which was very stressful as this was the only place that would take dogs. No note of our booking found! I had an email confirming my booking. Thankfully the owner found us somewhere else but dogs were not allowed. I did not sleep all night at new accommodation as dogs were... More

Dear Anne, we loved our 4 nights in your lovely B&B and hope to come back again one day. Thank you very much for making us feel at home and for being so warm and kind. We, including our Cocker-Spaniel, all miss you. Lots of Love, Michael and Michelle

We stayed in the ground floor room at the back of the house, which has its own small living room & TV which is very handy. The wall rises very steeply behind the room so don't expect a view, but who would want to stay in their room during the day anyway? Ann MacDonald is the perfect hostess and cooks... More

The warmest hospitality, the loveliest hostess, the prettiest bedroom, the yummiest breakfast, the biggest, fluffiest towels. We had the downstairs room, which is virtually a suite, with a small sitting room, shower room and pretty bedroom.. Our dog was also welcomed, and treated to a sausage every morning for breakfast.

Annie opened her B&B early and off season for us after she came highly recommended by our daughter & son in law and we wanted somewhere to stay with Australian friends en route to the Solar Eclipse in Orkney a few days later. On arrival in the evening we were greeted with a warm fire, hot drinks and a kind... More

We have stayed in B&Bs for 40 years and usually review them favorably because we enjoy the experiences. Cnoc-na-Uamha is perhaps our best B&B experience ever, and luckily we had booked for two nights. Situated next to the post office in the village on the small island of Scalpay (a few miles from Tarbert), the B&B has two rooms, including... More

The tourist office in Tarbert put me in touch with Cnoc-na-Uamha, since I was looking for a hotel or B&B that would take dogs, & they're fairly thin on the ground in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay: Annie was an excellent host, she couldn't have been any friendlier to either myself or my 11yr old Irish Setter, &... More

Had a wonderful stay with Annie the last week in May. A fabulous welcome to settle us in and great hospitality there after. We had a small apartment to ourselves which would be great for family. A place to definitely return to.

“There are two rooms, a twin and a double. The double is downstairs and is more of a suite, with a small sitting room with a bed that converts to a double - worth knowing if you're travelling with children. This room has its own shower room. The twin is upstairs, bathroom next door. All guests are welcome to share the sitting room downstairs.”

“The downstairs room is great if you have a family as its really more of a suite with a double bedroom, lounge area (with sofa bed), and bathroom, but the upstairs twin room has a great view of the harbour.”

“I haven't stayed in the other rooms but I would highly recommend whether you are a couple or a family asking for the downstairs unit as it offers excellent flexible accommodation for both. And if you're travelling solo I would still highly recommend staying at this B&B as the hosts could not treat you any nicer or be better company.”
