The Tal-y-don is a local pub in the High Street. It looks like an ordinary everyday pub, a bit shabby on the inside. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Free wifi is available. The big surprise with this pub was the wonderful food. The portion sizes were generous and the presentation inventive. Better still, the taste was marvellous....

Have visited this pub a few times over the years when in Barmouth. Good range of drinks and usual pub foot, which is fine. However, on this visit the sandwiches that we had ordered arrived in what can only be described as a wooden seed tray! The food was absolutely acceptable, with crisps, coleslaw and salad but the trays should...

Give this place a go as we had the dog and heard they welcomed them in. Had the jacket spud with chilli. It was huge, came with salad and coleslaw and was excellent, quite spicy. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

I'd like to say the staff at this venue are extremely friendly, attentive to our needs. However the fish and chips seemed like Iceland specials, all the fish came out with a horrible looking batter like processed food, ordinary looking froze chips, bland mushy peas, very tart tartar sauce. We'd normally buy a dessert mainly for the kids, however on...

Called in for a lunchtime sandwich & coffee after a soggy beach walk. Excellent beverage & a tasty tuna mayo on white. Dog friendly bar & a bowl of water for Dave, our puppy, added to our welcome. Would definitely recommend for dog owners & anyone after good food & service.

typical british seaside bedrooms - plain, simple but comfy. Staff are great - they can't do enough for you. Meal portions are huge and the pub itself is nicely laid out and furnished. Only problem in high season would be parking but I'm sure the staff would help

We've just returned from an excellent stay. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. We felt very at home. Staff and customers all very friendly. Super dog-friendly too. The rooms were perfect. Food and drinks good. Staff couldn't be more welcoming. Looking forward to returning.

We were greeted with a warm welcome to us and our little dog. Food was delicious, plentiful, and lovely and hot. They gave our little dog a bowl of water and made a fuss of him and everyone so friendly.

The room was clean and well presented, food was ok, the main problem is the bar is open till midnight, and the loud music made it impossible to sleep, I got dressed and went down to the bar at 12.15, and asked what time the music finished, it was very loud with only about 6 people in the bar, I...
