spend a wonderful night at The Metropole, possibly the cleanest hotel I have ever been to , swimming pool and spa wonderful, all the staff were attentive but not intrusive. this was a travelzoo offer well worth the money but the jewel in the crown was the 6 course tasting menu every course a taste extravaganza. The cheese course was...

This large building in the middle of the Victorian Spa Town of Llandrindod has a long and interesting history mostly under the ownership of one family. You can read the history in one of the corridors. We went on a deal which included the six course menu with a glass of champagne. It was excellent value and well worth doing....

This hotel is right in the centre of town. Used a lot by conference people etc. by the look of it. We just had the one night here, in what was supposed to be a superior room, Whilst the room did not have any particular faults, I did wonder what was suppose to be superior against other rooms, as it...

Yes we were TravelZoo clients, like most people. I agree with previous assessments, plenty of staff, very efficient, but just a wee bit formal for my taste. In the restaurant the feeling was very much they had a job to do and they did it. For example, I barely touched one of my 6 courses. It was something I fancied...

Not a destination that springs to mind for most so this hotel has to work really hard to succeed and it does. It's offers are excellent, it has a great spa and good food. Our room was a recently refurbished room (two rooms had become one) with a superking size bed and everything you could reasonably want/need. Super clean also...

A Victorian Hotel still family owned and it shows, the staff were all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The spar is excellent and large. The rooms are not state of the art modern and blank but cosy and comfortable with widows that actually open. We chose the hotel specifically for the Gourmet evening stay which was the best part of the...

We had a four night break at this traditional hotel. The staff were exceptionally courteous. The food was excellent. We booked through a special offer which included a 6 course taster menu. As the taster menu was the same every night, we were offered a choice from the a la carte menu on the other nights. This was equally delicious....

We recently stayed at the Metropole on a travelzoo offer. Our bedroom and bathroom were both large, well decorated and comfortable. The tasting menu was very pleasant, the fillet steak to die for... The well maintained pa facilities(gym, lovely pool, steam room, sauna) were a highlight. Plenty of lounging around area around the pool. The massage I had (paid for...

This place is shines by virtue of the fact that there is little else by way of competition locally. Parts are being refurbished, unfortunately my room had not been, and it showed. I was on the front and the swinging sign creaked all night outside the window. I also found the noise of guests in the corridors intrusive. There appeared...

The stay at this hotel was the result of wining a competition. This entitled us to a 2 night stay in a superior room. The room was large and well appointed. The bathroom has been recently refurbished. The dinner on the 1st night was the tasting menu in the restaurant. We were seated quickly by friendly staff. The food was...
