A lovely and charming surprise in the northern most town at the end of the world at the waters edge of the Arctic Ocean. Tuktoyaktuk is VERY remote at the end of the Dempster Highway which is 500 miles of tire eating sharp gravel with one gas station and motel at 250 miles from Dawson City. The very small industrial town is as plain and sparse as any you'd find in the Arctic. Imagine my surprise to find this very clean, well appointed, bright and inviting B&B in the midst of such a town. Very warm reception and wonderful people in this little hamlet.

To tell you the truth I can't remember much about the rooms other than they were clean and comfortable. What stuck out in my mind was the friendliness of the staff. We missed the plane out of town and had to find a place to stay and they were more than willing to accommodate our budget. I would stay here again even if there were other options.

We kayaked in from Inuvik and were a tired lot. Maureen, the owner, was in town and took us in. The building is beautiful and comfortable and I would suspect it is the best in town. Maureen is a wonderful host and person. Warm, and kind, she gave us stories that we will treasure forever. We also enjoyed meeting her friends as they stopped by. I give this B&B the highest possible recommendation. Thanks Maureen.

As confirmed Canadians, but now living in Strasbourg, France, our bucket list included dipping our toes in the Arctic Ocean to legitimately claim we had been from 'a mari usque ad mare - sea to sea to sea'. We picked Tuktoyaktuk, NWT to do so. We flew Air Canada from Frankfurt via Montreal to Vancouver and then on to Whitehorse. From Whitehorse, we flew on Air North to Inuvik and then on Aklak Air to Tuktoyaktuk. We stayed at Hunter's B&B. It is absolutely wonderful - like being at home with L/R, D/R and a fully equipped kitchen and two bedrooms each one with 2 queen size beds. It was so spic and span you could literally eat of the floor. Cosy and gemutlich. From there is was a 10 minute walk down Beaufort Drive to get to the Arctic Ocean ... a lovely and invigorating walk. Only advice ... if you have special diet needs ... bring what you need ... there is no drugstore or 24/7 ... remember you are way north of the Arctic Circle. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. Internet and satellite TV ... if you feel compelled to keep up with the 'news'. An all-round great experience.

My family stayed at Hunter's B&B during our recent road trip from Whitehorse, Yukon toTuk, NWT. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable and we were right on the shores of the Arctic Ocean! Our host (Maureen) was warm, courteous and flexible about the unforeseen (and last-minute) changes to our rental dates. This B&B is right beside one of the few restaurants (Gramma's Kitchen) but we had our own kitchen so we could make our own meals too. This was an ideal location for a two hour swim in the ocean because it is on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. On our swimming day, the air temperature rose to +22! I'd stay at Hunter's B&B again in a heartbeat---feeing right at home on the shores of the Arctic Ocean!

This was one of the nicest BnB's I have ever stayed in. It is exceptionally clean, large and well appointed and the host, Maureen was very helpful, social and kind. She also responded quickly when I had questions and messaged her. The BnB is right on the ocean and next door to Grandma's, the only restaurant in town as far as I could see.

The BnB has two bedrooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Some specifics:

Rooms: My room had a queen and a double in it. I don't know what is in the other one has one or two beds, but I think this would also be a great space to rent as a family taking both rooms. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with cozy linens (although it was a heat wave when I was there so cozy was the breeze from the window rather than linens)

Kitchen: The kitchen is a full kitchen and everything needed for a good hot breakfast was available eggs, toast, PB and J, coffee and a very nice selection of teas. There as also some instant oatmeal and microwave popcorn in case you wanted to watch a movie on the TV which has netflix and streaming on it.

Bathroom: spacious, very clean, with a soaker tub.

Living area: there is a couch with a chaise and a table with four chairs in the dining area. There is ample space for two parties to share the common area which is bright and nicely appointed.

Mobility Accessibility: The unit is not wheelchair accessible. Access is by stairs with railings on both sides. The bathroom has lots of room and probably would be navigable with a walker. There was sufficient space around the bed in my room for a walker. The tub is deep to step into.

As other reviewers have stated, the B and B was spotless! We had the full use of the main floor with living room, large dining area in front of the window, bedroom and bathroom. There was also a deck for sitting outside. We were greeted by Patsy, the owner’s sister, who was very welcoming. There was a full kitchen, laundry facilities, excellent wifi as well as satellite TV. We cooked most of our own meals, but ate dinner at Grandma’s kitchen, a few doors away. Patsy was able to answer our questions about life in Tuktoyaktuk and told us about her family and her life.
