Stayed in the dorm as family with two teens for four nights and the dorm was a great choice. Well laid out, plenty of space, super functional and well organized, very well lit and with a nice view. Didn’t mind that it’s a little walk from the main reception area. Walking outside, instead through the hotel corridors, is much quicker though.

Loved the hotel’s funky ice skating rink which we had to ourselves. Tried going snow shoeing by the river one day but it was too cold with the wind blowing into our faces, so ended up in Baie St-Paul village in Nicolas’s superb coffeeshop Arôme et Saveurs recommended by the amazing Louise, concierge at the hotel who helped us with so many things including arranging our ski days at Le Massif. Nicolas has a whole range of vegan coffees that we enjoyed every day of our stay, and also a large choice of pastries, pies and cakes for non vegans. The hotel itself also has a bakery and coffeeshop which we haven’t tried. The breakfast at the hotel is average but the staff is very kind and could arrange vegan coffees for us :) Their bistro Le Bercail has a vibe, the food is ok, they can arrange for a few vegan options including a vegan pizza. We had a great Valentine’s meal at Les Labours, their vegan courge bonbon risotto was super yummy. Great service too.

We enjoyed the Spa twice. Surprisingly, on the Valentine’s Day it was fairly empty and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the spa facilities (well wouldn’t call the cold plunge pool enjoyable but it was a fun family challenge:) The spa at sunset is very peaceful and beautiful. It was extremely cold outside that evening but it made the spa experience more special. We went back on a Sunday afternoon and honestly enjoyed it much less due to crowds and the warmer weather outside.

Due to very strong cold winds, we could ski at Le Massif only two out of four days. Skiing at Le Massif is fun and expensive. There’s only one place to rent equipment from, $50 per person per day. They are based on top of the mountain and are also a ski school. One and a half hour private lesson for our two teens cost $300 (including the equipment). The ski pass for a day is $84 per person. Adds up fast to $500 a ski day for a family of four ... Skiing in Europe is definitely cheaper and more charming but Le Massif has beautiful river views and we loved the hotel Le Germain with the surrounding nature and villages.

Beautiful gem in Charlevoix... we attended the 2020 Sommet. The event was extremely well organised and the hotel and event staff were very attentive, professional and empathetic. From the moment you're welcomed by the reception team...to the restaurant entourage and the precision work of the housekeeping unit, the overall experience was quite enjoyable. We're looking forward to coming back with the family to experience Le Germain Charlevoix this summer. Thank you to all!

Interesting architecture within a lovely country landscape a short walk from the village. The featured restaurant was closed but enjoyed the food at the restaurant that was opened. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The concierges offered grt suggestions for dining and guides and also very helpful helping me track down a last minute pcr test for my return flight. I would suggest heated floors, rugs or offering the guests slippers for use in the room. Overall a really nice hotel in a fabulous area. Book it!

Spent an evening in their Loft - Moulin Building room and while I really enjoyed the rooms layout and location, some of the finishing's were showing some wear and tear. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive, was disappointed that there was no room service, however they do allow you to order and pickup food and drinks for the hotel restaurant. The best feature of the hotel is that it is situated on a working farm. I would visit this property again.

This was an amazing business trip. I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. I was in building Le Clos which is the last one at the end and I really enjoyed it. The bed was super comfy (some colleagues mentioned that they found it too soft but I LOVED mine). the room had everything you could possibly want. A comfy bed, lots of pillows, good coffee, a great view, a working desk, lots of outlets etc.. The spa is a little small but has everything you need. Some comment goes for the gym. The restaurant on-site was very good and lots of choices for breakfast. A great experience really and I enjoyed the porch for a quick glass of wine with a few friends in the evening. Also, the bonfire was a nice touch as many of us gathered at night to chit chat and have a drink after a day of meetings. The animals on-site are a fun to have. There is also a walking path to the pier which is quite lovely to walk or jog.

The only negative thing I found was that my room was perfect for one person. Had we been two, I feel like we would of stepped on each others toes. Also, the open shower in the corner of the room meant that you need to be super comfortable if you are travelling with a second person. I know that they do have bigger family rooms as well. But, for one person It was great.

I had a great tine and I would return.

We were planning to split our time between Charevoix and Quebec city but within a few hours of being at the hotel we decided to extend our stay. Everything about the hotel and locale was so relaxing. We spent our days by the pool, or the spa, and walks to the river, At night we walked into town and enjoyed the excellent restaurant offerings. A couple of nights we built a fire with the wood provided by the hotel. The flower, herb, and vegetable gardens were a treat for us as avid gardeners. In season veggies are offered on the dinner menu.

For variety we went north and did a 2 hr whale watching tour. Another day we took the ferry to the nearby island which had beautiful views and lots of foodie experiences. Be sure to pick up a bottle of the apple wine grown locally. Another day was spent at the national park that rewards with beautiful view if the region if you make it to the top.

Personally, I could have spent the whole week at the hotel but my wife is more adventurous and glad for the day trips we took.
.
We stayed in the Clos section. First hotel I stayed in that had the sink and shower in the room and not the bathroom but it actually is preferable. We made breakfast and lunch in the room so having the sink easily accessible was a plus. The design of the room was well thought out.

The staff were always exceptionally curteous and friendly. We will definitely be back. Unless you're a skier, which we're mot, the winters are probably rough so maybe next summer for us.

We spent one night at the Hotel & Spa Le Germain Charlevoix during a week-long drive along the Saint Lawrence and left wishing for more. The hotel aesthetic is crisp, clean, hip, the vibe is friendly, the surrounding countryside is beautiful, and a vibrant town is within walking distance. We were so busy exploring the area during our short visit that we did not have time to use the spa or the pool, which actually seemed small and not all that appealing, especially for such an otherwise well-designed hotel.

Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choices including scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, fresh strawberries and blueberries and more. We ate dinner at one of the restaurants and had wonderful service from a very friendly and helpful waitress. The food was delicious but the meal was a bit rushed with courses coming out very fast, right after we finished the previous course. We had fois gras, basque duck, asparagus wrapped in ham, an assiette de viande. We shared a maple spice cake for dessert which was very rich and very large.

We can't wait for another opportunity to make the drive and spend more time at Le Germain Charlevoix and explore the surrounding area more thoroughly.

After 3 prior stays at the Germain and its restaurant in the last few years, we were used to a very high standard of service. This time, we've been somewhat disappointed. We had reserved for the breakfast of October 30 and 31, and the first morning, we noticed that, contrarily to the abundance of choice we were used to, the buffet-type menu was quite limited in variety. For instance, cereals were nowhere to be found, and there were no fruits as well (except for small fruit salad dishes). I made the observation to one waitress so that she could notice the management, but the day after, it was the same, and the waitress simply told me that staff was limited, they were not going to go buy more food at the supermarket (!), and that I was the only customer who had made such request. I understand the staff shortage and the COVID-19 restrictions, but at nearly 400$ per night, I would have expected a bit more efforts.
Also, we were told that the spa didn't need any reservation, but when we arrived, the lady at the desk told us that it was full. She was however very accomodating, and told us to come back 30 minutes later where we could have the spa free of charge. Also, the spa schedule from 10h to 18h is quite restrictive. We went to similar resorts at about the same time, and the spa were often open until 22h00.

Note that we made all of those comments in an internal customer survey, and the hotel management never replied to us.

We spent the week up to and including Christmas Day here in one of the very comfortable loft rooms. Baie-St-Paul is such a charming town and the holiday season was a perfect time to spend here. Covid, at the time, was on the rise here, but the hotel and staff did their utmost to make us feel comfortable.

Our loft room was huge, with an enormous bed and a fabulous bathroom. A comfy sofa and dining table made the space useful for doing more than just sleeping. It was a bit cold to use the balcony, but this would be a great place to relax with a nice bottle of wine and a great view if it weren't -20 outside.

Covid also impacted the services available at the spa, but the services that were available were comfortable and relaxing.

BSP has several great restaurants in town, but the restaurants at the hotel had menus varied enough that we did not feel the need to eat outside the houtel every night. And Christmas Eve dinner at Les Labours, the hotel's fancier restaurant, was amazing. The restaurants did a good job featuring local cuisine and I am really missing their Pouding chaumeur!

Totally worth making the trip here and I hope to visit again.

Was told there is no concierge service in the winter so my 83 year old mother had to lug all her luggage up to her room by herself, 43 steps up in total since there is no elevator. Not one person from the hotel offered to help her. She was told that the elevator was for VIP only after spending almost $300 a night for her room! My cousin tried to call her and the front desk told him there was no one under that name staying at the hotel?? The staff were completely rude to her and my daughter. They went to the spa and were treated so rude even though they were spending almost $800 their! They would not look at the booking emails on my daughter's phone, said they had to see paper copies which thank god I printed for my senior mother and made my daughter hike all the way back to the room even though they ended up not even needing them! I could go on and on about how poorly they were treated at this hotel, what a huge disappointment, we will never stay there again and do NOT recommend it at all. I thought it might be because they were English but my mom is from that village and is perfectly bilingual so that is not a reason.
