we were a larger group and they were very accomodating! After our hike they even let us use the showers before we left town. Very friendly and helpful! The rooms are clean and everything worked just fine!
This place is simple with great staff and a wonderful breakfast that’s included! We were able to keep our extra luggage there while we left for our 5 day trek and when we got back, the shower was great and the beds were comfortable. Internet in el chalten can be real spotty and this hostel has a computer with dial up just in case you really needed to get on! Great place, would recommend and visit again.
Everything was practical and clean, allowed us to really rest well and regain energy for our windy and exciting adventures in Patagonia! Little wifi in the evening, but that didn't bother us. Confortable commun spaces.
We arrived late, spent 3 nights and left very early. We appreciated the welcome, the location and the overall comfort. The room was large enough for our suitcases and backpacks. Very satisfied . . . .
Loved my stay at Patagonia Travellers' Hostel. The hostel was very well looked after, the staff were very helpful and I met some lovely people there. Great location close to the two main trailheads as well.
The rooms were very comfortable and the location is excellent. It's very easy to access the entire city and trailheads from the Hostel as it's only about 1/2km from the main entrance to the trails, and right on the main road. And, the best part of staying at the Patagonia Travellers' Hostel is the staff - they are helpful, friendly, and made our trip.
I stayed in this hostel for 7 days in mid-April 2019; my other friends stayed there for 3-4 days as they camped in the camp sites. The rate is approximately $50 USD per room (up to two person); shower water is always hot. The buffet breakfast is also good. We did not book this hostel in advance, just walked in and asked for available rooms. The staffs spoke fluent English, very helpful and easy to communication. There is a large parking lot in the backyard for free parking. The hostel located in the main street, steps to travel agencies and shops; within 50 meters walking distance, there are three restaurants; the grocery store and 24 restaurant is within 200 meters. And it is very close to the hiking trials to mountain Torre and Fitz Roy. The lobby, kitchen and eating area are spacious and clean as well. Dormitory bed is also available at lower price. Definitely will choose them again if go to El Charlten in the future.…
We had an unfortunate situation happen to our family which made us have to postpone our trip to Patagonia by 3 months. Patagonia Travellers' Hostel does not do any refunds but they were so kind to us regarding our situation and opted to have us upgraded to the cabin with breakfast included at no additional cost. The first thing the staff did when we checked in was ask us how our puppy was doing (hit by a car) which made us smile and feel so grateful to have chosen this hostel. The cabin was cozy and the location of the hostel is perfect for El Chalten. We rented bikes through the hostel as well and they were in great condition/highly recommend. If you are looking for budget accommodation, you will not be disappointed here! Thank you again to the staff who made our stay memorable!
This is a good hostel. We arrived very early after a night bus but were still allowed to use kitchen, bathroom etc. The staff was very helpful. The kitchen was a good size but could really have used some better equipment and some basic things like salt and oil. WiFi is bad everywhere in El Chaltén but in this hostel actually did not work most of the time. Dorm rooms are quite large and clean, but could really use some shelves. Overall I would come back probably because it was good, but we didn’t love it
I stayed here two nights while in El Chalten. It's a great hostel for hikers because it's very close to the Fitz Roy hike. There is a kitchen with lots of pots, pans, and dishes. The rooms were very clean, and the shower had warm water with great water pressure. The wifi worked pretty well in the common areas, but not so much in the rooms (but I found that to be the case everywhere in Patagonia). The front desk staff was so friendly and very helpful for providing information about the hikes.
