First of all, when you have some tour in Andasibe National park and stay there for one night or more, Vakona Forest Lodge is one of the recommended hotels there. They've got some good and confortable bungalows and so quiet. The service is perfect for the visitors.

Arriving at this property after a bit of a drive, you become guests of the rainforest at this unforgettable location. The sights and sounds...it's a little surreal in the best possible way. The service was great, food was surprisingly amazing every night and we were pleased with the flexibility of the menu given my spouse is a very picky eater....

Travelling to Madagascar we knew the hotels wouldn't be spectacular, but here was a great disappointment. Although the surroundings were beautiful, our lodge was very old and small. Nowhere to charge a phone or camera. No internet. We travelled 09/16 and room was cold. Meals were not great. Someone said about not being allowed to do laundry - we didn't...

The lodge is a beautiful place with individual cabins and a primary lodge with a bar, living room area, dining and souvenirs. It is in part over water. The food and service are excellent and good wifi available in the main lodge. Mosquito netting was over the beds. The lemur island was lots of fun with a variety of lemurs...

We stayed at this lodge for two nights while visiting the national park, the lodge is as its name implies located in the forest. There are many walking trails on the property and the food here was very good.Would stay here again.

Location is great, a bit difficult to get there if you don't have a rented car. The room looks very nice, the food is good, especially the mango jam from the breakfast. We were lucky to find a room available for 1 night on a last minute reservation and unfortunatelly we couldn't stay longer because everything was booked. Internet wasn't...

I do not know where to begin since the list is very long: Only hotel in Madagascar that did not welcome me with either a wet towel or a welcome drink. No air condition, no ventilator in the room (after I asked an old one was brought to my room) no television in rooms, phone in most rooms is not...

This lodge is in a lovely setting with a lovely garden and large pond. The rooms are functional and clean and the food was good, as was the service. The main area is circular around a roaring fire and there are sofas and comfy chairs on which to relax after a trip out. The lemur reserve is fabulous and was...

Beautiful setting and you could hear the Indri in the distance. Lodges cool but comfortable nothing in Madagascar is luxury. Food was acceptable but not outstanding. The island with the tame lemurs was delightful and the close proximity of the parks made those visits easy. The night walk was also fascinating with a wide number of animals on view.

In an excellent location close to Perinet and Mantadia; the rooms are ok - clean and functional and of a reasonable size (the mozzy net could have done with replacing as the holes defeated its purpose!). We had a room near the pool which would have been lovely had it been open; there seemed to be a very slow refurbishment...
