The guy in the reception gave us a wrong price for the taxi brousse to fianarantsoa and showed us a wrong Place in the map, where the official station should be. The next day we went to the place where only one unofficial taxi brousse was waiting. We took it for way too much money, because we trusted the Hotel. Such a big shame for this beautiful Country. When you are in a strange Country, you need to rely on the employees of the Hotel.

Response from HOTEL L, Propriétaire at Le Trianon
Responded Jan 22, 2020
dear customer, I just had a strong talk with my employees. They allways show the official taxi-brousse station (near a Jovenna gas-station, if you remember). But, on the way from the hotel to this station, especially if you go on pousse-pousse, you pass in front of the unofficial taxi-brousse station, also and unfortunately placed near a gas-station (a Galana one), with many sons of b**** calling you out to take their vehicules. So may be you stopped there, and get trapped indeed. I'm really sorry for what happened, but I can assure you that we never dare mess with our customers and that we are really concerned by your safety and wellness. Kind regards, the director

We stayed here two different nights during ur trip. The first night, we stayed upstairs. Just one of the beds had a mosquito net. The bed was comfy. But we had bed bug bites the nest day... The roof had 2 leaks. Water pressure in the shower was very low. The room was clean though. The second night we stayed, it was a different room and it was downstairs. The beds were ok but no mosquito nets. And this time we didnt get bed bugs. This time the shower was ok.. but the room was very noisy. Had to put up with somebody's boombox outside our room...

I got one of the rooms which was located at the detached building, next to the restaurant. I believe they have more rooms upstairs from the restaurant. My room was small but enough for a nights stay. The bathroom was also spacious enough. The bed was not comfy at all. It was rock solid but I slept as I was really tired. Can't say more about the room or the hotel as I went to sleep right away, but the restaurant has amazing food. I can say it was one of the best foods I had in Madagascar, it actually felt like I was in France. Definitely have dinner here, even if you are not staying at the hotel. And I must add that the guy at the reception is really friendly and helpful. He loves his job :)

We stopped for a night. The bed was super comfy and the room was spacious. It was wonderfully quiet and the staff were friendly. The hotel is situated close to the main centre of town a short walk from all amenities and restaurants. We would definitely stay again. Great WiFi!

This hotel probably has had it best days. The room was very basic and outdated, the bed uncomfortable with the springs pinching in my back. There is no mosquito net, just an electronic repellent which does not keep out all the mosquitos; it is advisable to use DEET also during the night... The shower was hot, but the bathroom was not really clean. On the walls many killed mosquitos were to be found. The breakfast took forever, we had to wait over 20 minutes just to get three pieces of bread and some jam. The receptionist is responsible for that, and both days these people had different priorities. Interestingly the WiFi worked great, I would invest in other things if this was my hotel...

We stayed at le trianon for 2 nights. The hotel is located next to a busy road but noise is not that bad. The walk to the centre is quite a strawl especially at night in the dark. There is a nice pizza restaurant opposite the road though and there are many riskjas around that are prepared to move you to the centre. The room was quite outdated and not really maintained. The mosquito net was missing, the shower hook was broken and the safe key was missing. Worse the room was not clean, dust was around and also dead mosquitos were left on the wall, I suppose by lack of a mosquito net to scare of mosquitos? WiFi was quite good and also the showers provided hot water. Breakfast is an absolute joke. It took both mornings more than 25 minutes to bring us a cup of coffee and 3 breads with butter and jam. This also has to do with 1 staff member running both reception and breakfast service. Apparently checking out guests is a higher priority than serving breakfast.

My wife and I were put into a room just next to the lovely old house, it was cute and had a nice little patio area to the front. However the bathroom seemed to back on to the kitchens and we could hear staff singing etc. The breakfast was basic the next morning but fine. And I think that is how to sum up Le Trianon (basic but fine).

This hotel looks lovely, but compared to the price it didn’t fulfill our expectations. At our arrival no one was there to give us any information. The room was full of mosquitoes, very dirty and dusty and the main light didn’t work. It seemed they haven’t had used this room for a long time and didn’t check it before our arrival. The receiptionist apologized and went to clean the room himself. Unfortunately we couldn’t see any difference. We had a horrible night due to a uncomfortable bed and dust allergy. The next morning we got up early to continue our road trip, but found out they don’t serve breakfast before 7am. Breakfast was good, without it we woud‘ve rated 2 points.

Response from chezdom, Directeur général at Le Trianon
Responded May 4, 2018
Dear customers (ex ?), I gave a close reading to your comments and, unfortunetely, you're right. Let me at least give some explainations. In the morning I installed the new TV set and made some dust. I had ordered a cleaning of the room to the day receptionist and she didn't transmit my orders, so the room was still dirty. I didn't verify, my fault. About the mosquitoes, every room has an electric mosquitoes killer that works just fine, just plug it in. From now on, the breakfast is serve from 06:30 AM (may be earlyer if you ask. But not too ealry...). We've check of course the bed and the lights. Thank you for remaining us that our job needs an every second survey, we'll don't forget. And, please, come back. Best regards, D. Carpentier, director

We really enjoyed the nice ambience in the hotel and want to say one more thanks to the hotels personnel, especially the night-watchman, for their help with our little problem very early in the morning at our second stay!
