Lovely welcome by receptionist who talked us through the local area and safe transport options with the coorect rates. Stayed in a large room in new upgraded wing. Hotroom on the third floor as noted by other reviewers, but air conditioning unit fully functioning to offset this and very quiet restful night as a result. Nice restaurant with good meal...

We changed to another hotel after one night. The room itself wasnt the best. The door didnt close for some reason unless it was locked and everytime we closed the balcony doors, we felt like they would just fall off. The showerhead didnt work properly and the Wi-Fi didnt work. I asked for another room and they gave us a...

This is a lovely modern hotel in the city. You can walk to all the night spots as well. The room had all the amenities - air conditioning, tv with international channels, free wifi, in room safe. The bathroom was lovely with a shower and bath, great hot water and water pressure. The staff were very helpful.. We ate dinner...

After roaming in Madagascar for two weeks this was the first hotel with a bath ! I was in heaven ! You also have wifi in the room. Restaurant is good but a bit slow or at least dinner was. If you sit outside be prepared for the dozen of beggars and people trying to sell you stuff... I did...

Really, really trendy hotel with a great combination of contemporary design and old French colonial style! Enjoyed every minute of staying there! Also, impressed with staff's attentiveness - they've assigned a room with a balcony for me, knowing I am a smoker, and gave safety warnings about moving around the city once I arrived

We stayed one night as a stop over - the hotel was clean and satisfactory except for it being very hot! The town and surroundings are not great and we did not enjoy the restaurant downstairs but it was fine as a stop over. Our room had a nice bathroom and adequate facilities.

We were recommended to the restaurant for dinner by friends. We were not disappointed. The meal was simple but delicious. I had a Zebu (sort of local cow) skewer with generous portions which almost melted in the mouth. My companion had Zebu steak which was similarly delicious. Though other reviews suggested that the desserts were 'not up to much' my...

I have eaten at the restaurant, the main meals were delicious, the desserts were a little lacking. The service was good however the meals were a little slow to come out. This place is perfect for a lazy lunch, sitting on the old colonial veranda watching the world go by.

Stayed one night in Tamatave as we had to overnight to fly to Sainte Marie. Wouldn't recommend the city unless required to stopover however can recommend the hotel & great restaurant attached. The menu doesn't reflect how good the food is & the wait staff were fantastic! Recommend eating here. Our hotel room was well equipped & overall happy with...

We stayed at the Hotel Joffre given its high reviews on trip advisor. The rooms were spacious, and the hotel quite nice However, we would advise people not to stay on the 3rd floor. We travelled for 5 weeks in Madagascar, in a wide range of hotels. This hotel is quite expensive for what you get and we found management...
