We loved our stay at Heilala. The fale was lovely, the staff were welcoming, the dinners (which we ordered at breakfast time) were delicious. We love snorkelling and Heilala is situated by the most lovely beach with wonderful snorkelling. Often people say that people 'go the extra mile' but the staff at Heilala really do. On an evening out, we...

I stayed here in August 2016 with my sister on a girls holiday. The hotel itself is what you expect. Traditional, simple and no frills. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was superb and the option to add cooked food was at very reasonable prices. The location is not in town but you can get the bus for...

We stayed at Heilala in October with our two 15 year old sons. We had the most relaxing holiday - the staff, especially Sam and Liu couldn't do enough to ensure that we were well looked after. The boys were forever asking for WiFi tickets, which were given with a smile, often 5 at a time! The beach and the...

really nice beach to hang out and grab a beer. The owner is extremely responsive via email and such a great guy. He even offered me a discount cause I book a week with them. I stayed in the shared facilities which was great. I think it is one of the nicest "hostel" type places I've ever stayed in. The...

Clean comfortable fales - very friendly staff - lovely complimentary continental breakfast - free bicycle hire - lovely beach. Kayaks could be upgraded but they did the trick. Easy to spot passing whales, good snorkelling. At the northwestern tip of Tonga'atapu - quite secluded but still plenty of options for dinners at neighbouring resorts. Price good value - tours organised...

My husband I came with his sister & husband in May 2013 and this time the four of us returned with the addition of their brother. We weren't disappointed. If you read my previous review you get a good idea of why we returned. Sven, Liu and Una and others make a great team. The only difference this time, was...

I stayed here for 10 days with a girlfriend to see the sights, meet the people and swim with the whales. From the start at being picked up from the airport by Liu, the team was always helpful and accommodating. The Accommodation of a Fala was as described, very basic, but all we needed. What makes this place so beautiful...

This property is a really nice tidy accommodation with great gardens and located right on the beach inside a very cool snorkelling reef. With rural surroundings. Breakfast was included in the cost and while a tropical breakfast may not sound like much it was very tasty and filling. Home made jam was fantastic. Dinner was not availble on site however...

I am so glad that I chose Heilala to stay at. It is in a beautiful location, with great snorkelling and a beach almost deserted. What makes this place special is the staff who are always friendly and helpful. A gentleman called Liu was amazing. He works very hard and very long hours but always is smiling and happy to...

Heilala is in a great location on the northwest of the main island Tongatapu, alongside Ha'atafu beach, which offers some snorkelling, surfing, and a calm area inside the reef for kayaking. The resort also has bikes available for use, and scooters for daily rent. The staff are welcoming and helpful, happy to organise activities and assist with queries. A tropical...
