On a recent holiday to Tonga we chanced upon Heilala on Trip Advisor and booked just from the number of great reviews. We were definitely not disappointed and stayed at both the beginning and end of our holiday. The location, accommodation, beach and area are great - about 25 mins out of the main town. The beach is great for...

This time last year we stated at Heilala and I wrote my first ever trip advisor review- praising the service, setting and atmosphere at this lodge. One cannot really endorse a resort more than returning to it. We have just had another week at Heilala and on the strength of that we hope to have a third in '14.We invited friends...

I stayed at Heilala Holiday Lodge for a week with my mum - we had a wonderful time; the owners were friendly & helpful and the grounds itself are lovely. The lodge is right on the beach, snorkelling equipment is provided for free and the complimentary breakfast each morning is delicious. We borrowed Heilala's bikes to go cycling most days...

Recently we spent two weeks at heilala holiday lodge. Our family consisted of myself, my husband and our two year old daughter. We had the most fabulous, relaxing time there. The accommodation was great and very well priced. We stayed in a superior fale and it was well appointed and comfortable. The whole property was well set up and beautifully...

We stayed two nights and loved this place. Sven is friendly, helpful and organised. There are many nice touches with setting and decor, and the overall complex is beautifully maintained. The room we had was clean and nicely decorated.

We (myself and 9 girlfriends) have just arrived back from a 5 night stay at Heilala. I have travelled extensively and have never met such lovely hosts as Sven and Kolo. The property is very well maintained, the Fales were perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. We took a fair amount of nibbles and wine/duty free so were self sufficient...

Stayed a week and loved it. Lovely welcoming staff who couldn't do enough to please. I have allergy issues and they catered wonderfully for me. When coconut cream would have been too rich I had lovely tuna or snapper with tasty salads. Breakfast was so filling my husband didn't even try the pancakes on the extras menu. Beautifully presented fresh...

Stunning place the nicest people you can imagine running it. The rooms were beautifully looked after. The food was amazing every night. Stunning breakfast to start the day. I can't say enough good stuff about the place. Only thing I would recommend is bringing duty free because the beer is very expensive and hard to find there.

I stayed for 3 nights at Heilala in April 2013 and had a wonderfully relaxing time. If you are looking for somewhere quiet to stay where you can snorkel, swim, read a book, relax in a hammock then this is a top spot. It is a fair way out from Nuku'alofa so not the place to stay if you are...

Just back from 8 nights at Heilala Holiday Lodge where we had a nice relaxing holiday. We stayed in a superior fale which was clean and well equipped with all the basic requirements, a nice hot shower, reasonably comfortable bed, fridge and jug etc. We did eat most of our meals in the restaurant and while there was not a...
