Great location in the centre of town with a nice view. We didn't mind the hotel because swimming with whales was amazing. Overall the place felt rundown the bathroom was in need of replacement. The TV and bedside lamps did not work. The pool had been empty for years and we waited two hours for our breakfast order to arrive...

Stayed for about 10 days in the Pua and obviously had to adapt to local standards. The spacious room with spacious bathroom overlooks the bay/harbour and gives stunning views. Balcony with one(?) chair. Airco worked well, and we had plenty of furniture inside. Walking distance to everything in town. We had daily breakfast with a group of 10, and this...

Poorly clean, lots of bugs, but well located and cheap. Security is not their thing, my friends were stolen . They caught the lady in situ and called the police. Be careful! The pool was not operative either.

Good place in town but should but better. The grounds are very nice right on the water and a little wooded area with a cave in the back. The rooms are clean, have hot water but are out dated. The people are nice but will only do the minimal. The pool had no water. The TV and credit card machine...

The hotel rooms are huge and cleaned everyday. I really like the speed of check in and how laid back the hotel staff are. The hotel runs on 'Island time' but they really make a big effort to accommodate all requests. On the down side the pool was out of service, the wi-fi was 'finished' and you needed a good...

Breath taking scenery and thats about it. Reading past reviews this hotel hasn't changed at all. Our stay here was meant to be 2 nights but unfortunately the state and smell of the room was unbearable. Linens were disgusting, beds looked like they weren't changed from the last guests, broken furniture, rusty basin and left over soap in the shower,...

The Pua is in a great location. But all stars stop there. We were upgraded to a large room which had broken furniture, a tv that didn't work (supposedly cyclone Ian but I suspect unpaid bills), floor covered in hair, dirty toilet, and no hot water. We left after 1.5 days and received a refund after a 10% refund fee....

During the last three decades we have travelled extensively in the South Pacific and stayed at a wide range of places. After our stay on the most beautiful island of Fava we flew up to the North of the Tongan Archipelago to Vavau, Neiafu. The hotel was OK, unfortunately not more, but the island itself is on the other hand...

No hot water at night, dingy linens, stinky bathrooms and sub-par service. On top of that a price that you would charge at a downtown Hilton. Stick with the nearby beach resorts and find somewhere better to stay.

“The rooms close to the hotel reception/dining area are better - closer to dining facilities, pick up & drop offs and also the far end of the hotel is close to a series of bars. Although not really that loud the opposite end is overall preferred. It is a reasonable walk from the far end (bars) to reception/dining area.”
