Located short drive from town - taxis available but you really need a car for convenience. Lovely grounds, well maintained, with good views over harbour. Units are basic (remember this is Vava'u not Santorini or Monaco) but have the essentials to enable you to self cater. Not much storage room - would recommend taking two bedroom unit to feel more... This place was excellent for travelling with a group. The villas are set in some nice gardens which is nice compared to staying in a big building. Rooms are comfortable and had gas rings and refrigerators with some tea and coffee supplies - pots, plates etc. It was nice to sit on the veranda and enjoy life or a cup... More

Very friendly and absolutely helpful staff. We even got a Tongan mobile phone which made getting around and communication a lot easier. The location is out of town, but easy to reach by taxi. You can prepare your own food in the bungalow's kitchen. A lovely and clean place to stay. We got the most cordial assistance by Pat. Thanks... More

Pat was wonderful - generous and helpful to the max, but as other reviewers have said this place is far from being a "resort". The potential is there with lovely grounds and beautiful views, but there are serious shortcomings at the moment - too far out of town and it is quite expensive to either hire a car or catch... I had the benefit of knowing the location of the Harbourview and a reasonable expectation of what we could expect after several previous trips to Neiafu. Firstly Tongans should ditch the word RESORT. There are no "Resorts" (as we know them) in Tonga - but some wonderful places to stay nevertheless and the Harbourview is one of them. Perhaps it... More

We stayed for 4 nights, having booked from NZ before we came. We liked it but it's about 3km out of town with no facilities or transport. Taxis are $10 each way into town. Most accommodation in Tonga seems to include breakfast but this didn't. However our unit had a fridge and basic cooking facilities. However, there were lots of... More

We spent two nights here and after a previous resort it was pretty disappointing. I agree with others it does not deserve the name resort at all. The on-site staff person was often unavailable and when there seemed feel intruded on by a knock on the door , couldn't take payments nor make phone calls to book or cancel anything... More

We stayed in room 3 for 5 nights. Ok so it's not exactly a 'resort' but we really enjoyed the tranquility and the view. The rooms are very clean, and we got everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable. Solar power hot water is always hot. The wi-fi is a bit slow, but really... I was on holidays so I... More

Stayed 6 nights. Great base for whale encounters as jetty across the road. Hot shower and clean sheets. Fridge and gas cooker so easy to be self sufficient. Bungalows have verandah and are set in lovely garden with view of the harbour. Only 4 Kim's from town or 5 mins in a cab. Nice and quiet. Helpful and friendly staff.... More

I spent two weeks at Harbourview Resort and found the experience a good one. To call the establishment a resort is a bit of a long shot, so just treat this as an add on to the name. The location is quite scenic, quiet (with the exception of a mooing cow and several roosters), accommodation spacious, comfortable and relatively private.... More
