Woodlands is a non-pretentious stop-over that strives to offer a comfortable, pleasant stay-over for an affordable price. It exceeds at that. The surroundings are peaceful and well-groomed and Mike's Meals are a very thoughtful optional extra.
Checked into Woodlands on 16th November. Our party of four booked both a cottage and a camping site. This is an oasis and not to be missed. The cottages are all of a high standard, spotlessly clean and well appointed, and the camp sites are all on lush grass and have clean ablution blocks and power. As a real bonus, they have a beautiful swimming pool with clear water. The following morning, it was obvious that the place is well managed, as there were smartly dressed staff around the grounds tending to maintenance. A very nice touch is the availability of ready meals in reception that can be microwaved, along with wine and beer to purchase. Highly recommended.
Goodness knows how many times we’ve frequented woodlands and how many times we’ve recommended it to other travellers. It ticks all the boxes: Ideally situated, spotlessly clean, full facilities for every type of traveler, including spacious, well appointed and shady campsites, pristine swimming pool, spotless ablutions and the necessary Braai essentials available to purchase. For those that have been caught at the veterinary road block just up the road and had their meat confiscated - there’s food available to purchase by way of ‘mikes meals’ - tasty portions ready to cook or Braai packs. Chalets are spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed. Linen is crisp and fresh. Beds are comfortable & supportive. In the hot weather, rooms are equipped to cool you down nicely. Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchenette and a generous stoop on which to settle down to listen to the wonderful birdsong that abounds. What more can anyone ask? Recommend 100%…
Woodlands was our last stop on our way home and it was perfect. The grounds were clean and well maintained, the bathrooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They have a little shop on site which was also very convenient. We will definitely go back!
Really enjoyed our stay here. It is so nice and peaceful, the self catering room is equipped with everything you need. Would like it though if there were budget room options as we only stay for a quick stop over while on the way to Zambia or SA. But for someone staying longer it is definitely worthwhile!
En route from Kasane to Johannesburg, a wonderful, birdsong-filled place to stay. Full marks to them. We were allocated the magnificent Woodlands Cottage with a lovely breakfast in the fridge included.
As always, very accommodating. Lovely place to just relax after a long drive. Friendly staff, very clean. Simple catering facilities but perfect for what we need for a quick braai. Will definitely visit again.
An immaculately kept hidden gem well put together, great value I would highly recommend for those self driving through Botswana. The road into woodlands is a gravel road which is passeable during the rains and its location on the Tati River makes it well worth the short drive out of Francistown.
Well maintained campsite and pool and ablutions. Enjoyable and reliable stopover. The prepacked meals and braai packs are an excellent help- especially when coping with transporting meat across vet fences!
My wife and I spent a night at Woodlands on our way to Zambia from South Africa, we loved the location on the river, the beautiful gardens and walking through the gardens, the staff were friendly, the unit was neat and clean and we will definitely use Woodlands again, thank you.
