A warm welcome was received on our arrival. The cottages were ideally situated for a view of the river, which we made the most of from our veranda. Beds were very comfy and loved the bathroom and especially the shower. The exceptionally high ceilings added to the beauty of the setting. It was a pleasure to have an a la...

For anyone traveling through Maun - the Thamalakane River lodge is a little slice of heaven on earth. Fantastic high ceilinged, thatched top roofs on individual quarters with netted beds, gorgeous showers and fast wifi. Everyone is delightful and so accommodating. We stayed there twice - coming and going from the bush - and appreciated the food, the service and...

Based on their promotions we had high expectations but were highly disappointed. The chalets are small, very dark and depressing. Staff not very guest orientated. Wifi login as indicated by staff didn't worked and had to be handled by management. No lounge chairs at the swimming pool. Maybe it was because of the low season, but the overall atmosphere wasn't...

This is the nicest place to stay in Maun by far. The architecture of all the rooms and buildings is charming and local. Comfortable all round. Staff who look to please. Free WiFi. Laundry service. Sits on the river and so nice view. The restaurant food is fine, but takes forever to get served. We were a dinner party of...

Room had a nice view but that is about all that was good about the hotel. Breakfast was poor and no-one helped carry our bags to our rooms. The rate was not cheap either so a porter service is expected. Finally one of the staff members stole our permit from the glove box of the car, while it was open and...

We landed in Maun and got our rental car at the airport. After filling up and picking up a few supplies at the local Spar, it was just a quick 20 minutes from town to the lodge. We were in the Babbler Chalets down on the far end of the property. Rooms were clean and spacious and had a great...
