This is my third visit this year the new management are making lots of changes , food has improved in leaps and bounds our boat ride up the river was exceptional lots of cold beer and plenty to see. But you don't need to go far to animals. The hippo graze on the grass in front of the chalets at... More

Wonderful place to stay. Great for an overnight stay before going on to the Delta. Wonderful owners and great hospitality. The food was great. The people really went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

This is my favorite lodge in Botswana, and I stayed in several in my jaunt across the country. It's not just the amenities, which were good (and improving, there was a lot of upgrading going on), but it was the care with which the staff and owners take in every detail. Everything, from the linens to the landscaping, have a... More

We chose this lodge/ hotel for the last 2 nights of our holiday in Botswana, as we wanted some time to relax, after the early safari wake ups, before heading home. It was recommended to us by our travel agency and is considered to be the best location in Maun. Unfortunately, this only reflects how poor the rest of the... More

Comfortable stay with river front lodges providing comfortable beds and much space to place luggage bags. Clean bathroom and restaurant dining space. We only stayed one night on our way through to Moremi but wish it had been longer. Thamalakane is an oasis on the banks of the river, and the accommodation and lodge is first class. The owners welcomed us with open arms and made sure our time there was special. The highlight was the evening sundowner boat cruise. Thamalakane is... More

We stayed at Thamalakane two nights this year in between safari in CKGR and Moremi. Having stayed two years ago we were keen to go back. Things are not quite the same. The menu has changed a lot and does not differ between lunch and dinner. I really missed the beautiful prawn and melon salade I had last time. I... More

Very enjoyable stay just outside Maun in a beautiful setting on the Thamalakane River. Very comfortable accommodation in well furnished chalets. Some of our party stayed in the Babbler chalets and some in the Fish Eagle chalets.
