We stayed here on our first night in South-Africa. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely people, they immediately helped us plan our route and find a nice restaurant for dinner. Nice rooms and a good breakfast. Certainly recommended! Fair price!

Flame Tree is a nice guest house. It is quite basic, but everything you need is there: en-suite room with a shower (hot water) and toilet. The rooms are of a good price. The owner (Maggie) is a very nice and helpful lady, as are the rest of the people working there. Breakfast is served at the time you want...

The coffee was delicious Mzuzu of course.we loved the neat garden filled with flowers. The guest house in close to the bus station and a short walk into the town. It is really affordable.

For our first trip to Malawi, this little guesthouse has everything you need. A very comfy bed and en-suite bathroom you can't ask for more in Africa. Very clean and tidy with a beautiful little garden. Mosquito net included (very important in Africa!) and delicious food. If you manage to get a locally cooked meal from Maggie, 'traditional style' you...

Stayed here one night on my way to Dar Es Salaam. Not far from bus terminal. It was 5,000mwk (about 13$US) for a room in the mainhouse with a single bed and shared bathrooms. Room was basic but clean and beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were basic, could have been cleaner. Hot water once you turn on the water heater....

We spent one night at the Flame Tree Guest House it Mzuzu. The accommodations were very clean, with a comfortable double bed and ensuite shower and toilet. The water situation was not ideal (low pressure, intermittent hot water), but this is pretty common in Malawi, so I wouldn't hold that against the hotel. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable...

I liked many things about this guest house. It is set away from the hustle & bustle, but is just a short walk into the center of town; I felt like I was in a local neighborhood—which was nice. I found some great little local restaurants and corner shops on the main parallel road down the hill. The owner, Maggie,...
