We have stayed in this type of hotel in the past when we were younger, but we appreciate more hotel services now. They put our group on the third floor which was really inconvenient especially when there were so few guests in the hotel. No shampoo or wash clothes in the bathroom and the breakfast offerings were minimal. We had dinner one night which took about an hour and a half to reach us. Our margarita pizza was inedible- the first time this has ever happened to us in all our travels throughout the world. The spring rolls were tasty, and most everyone else in our group thought their dinners were okay. I think we stayed in this hotel because of our gorilla and golden monkey treks. It was clean but very basic. The staff was friendly but our communication with them was limited because of their lack of English speakers. If there’s a more expensive hotel in this area, I would choose that.

Good wifi, nice room albeit slightly outdated, lovely views and I had a nice balcony which was lovely to sit out on in the sunshine. The food took a long time to come in the evening so would suggest ordering in advance, breakfast was fabulous though and even arrange for it to go at short notice due to an early start.

We spent 3 nights in La Palme hotel, which is located in the city centre. The rooms are well equipped and clean. It’s better to avoid the rooms that are at the ground floor in the building of the hotel reception, because they are noisy and have a small terrace that directly overlooks the car park! There’s a small garden, where we can relax and have lunch/dinner outside. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, and it was buffets ; food was good. The staff is professional.

La Palme was a clean, efficient, and friendly place to stay the night and have a few meals before setting out for Volcanoes National Park. I liked how quiet it was and it had a fun old hotel feel to it. The staff were very attentive and made sure we enjoyed our meals. They provided everything we needed in the reception area (lemonade as we were checking in) and in our rooms (towels, shower shoes, soft sheets, great balconies). I would stay here again if I were to come back to Musanze!

After spending a few of the previous nights ‘out in the bush’, my stay at La Palme was quite pleasant. The bedroom was large, well put together, and clean. The bathroom was spacious and functional, but it didn’t feel as cleanly as I would have liked. The dining areas were large with plenty of seating; that was a plus for my large group. The service was professional and quick, and the food was very good. The location is convenient as there are activities and restaurants within only a few minutes. Overall, I am happy with the service, location, and accommodations, but I would have liked the bathrooms to be slightly more cleanly.

Compared to the newer hotels/inn, LPH is old but well-kept in cleanliness. I stayed here for two nights and I am impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. I like clean, so I look at how the hotel is kept and I am pleased. The staff were all nice, ready to help me the moment I arrived. Of course, they won't pull your luggage but carry it over their heads. The check-in went smooth and I they took me to my room. The room I reside in was huge. I am a solo traveler and I had a king size bed, with a separate living room with two bathrooms. Wow! I had a welcome plate of different types of fruits and water, of course. The bathroom was medium size with clean towels. The restaurant at this hotel is huge as well. There are a variety of dishes to choose from. One thing I like about this hotel is that they cleaned my hiking boots after I did the gorilla trekking. The employee who took care of my boots did a good job. Overall, this hotel is a nice place to stay in for a few days as you move on to your next destination.

We have been there twice for dinner and each time was absolutely excellent. Food is prepared with local fresh products in a very accurate way. Service was impeccable and very thoughtfull. One of our best meal in Rwanda. We did not sleep here though

This was a very basic 1960s style hotel and room, completely lacking any atmosphere. The mini bar and safe in each room were not present in ours. The food was adequate but not good. We discovered the bar in the grounds outside the dining room which served local beer with cheerless service. Spirits had been hidden away by the time we finished dinner and our night-cap could only be provided after searching for the required bottles.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on a tour. Although this hotel was quite old and dirty, it was at least back to modernity after staying in lodges for gorilla trekking. There was individual water heater in the bathroom to ensure a hot shower, TV had BBC and sports channel for World Cup. There was also in-room Wifi with rather steady and strong reception. Safe deposit boxes are available at the reception and use of hair dryer required deposit. Buffet dinner and lunch were very simple while breakfast had tomato juice and bananas. Location of the hotel was just 10 minutes' drive from the local vegetables markets and small shopping mall.

We hadn't intended staying here but our guide recommended it when a previous booking was lost. our twin room was in a section of the hotel next to the main block. it was quiet and clean although the water pressure in the shower was pathetic. The menu in the restaurant was basic and the food a bit dry and overcooked but edible. location wise, the hotel is on a main road that leads into the town - only about a 15 minute walk.
