When you stay here it makes you feel like you are part of a family. This is a beautiful little hostel with a few rooms and then camping. There are meals served for lunch and dinner, there are showers, and of course wifi. The location is great for exploring the rolling hills of Rwanda or to head off and visit...

Do not expect this to be a tourist hotel. We experienced it as a very nice hostel. Rooms pleasant. Shared bathroom clean. Lovely grounds with curious local kids having afternoon cultural activity. Two nice meals in dining room. After dinner campfire made pleasant eve chat venue. Staffed largely by Ugandan interns from a hospitality educational program. They were very attentive...

This is a great place to visit. There is lots to do: eg. basket weaving with local women is great fun, dressed in local garb. The rooms are comfortable, mosquito nets present, washroom out of room, but clean. Loved Harriet, @ the desk- extra helpful & enthusiastic. Tour of the site fun

My favourite story is walking into the main living room of Red Rocks and seeing the thousands of handprints that mark the wall as some weird version of a Jackson Pollock and the manager Harriet telling me, with a shrug, that she just woke up in a mood one day. That feels like Red Rocks in general, this trippy alternate...

I booked 2 nights at this place, but ended up staying for 11 nights!! I absolutely loved the people, the location and the athmosphere, I just couldn't leave. The rooms are clean, I slept very well here, the shower is hot and the meals are made from local ingredients, very tasty. It is located a little out of town, which...

We traveled through in Nov. 2016 and stayed for two nights. The staff is very friendly and between our Kinyarwanda and their English, we communicated well. Dry season camping here would be pleasant. We stayed in rooms, in the lodge.

We camped in tents at Red Rocks Hostel, and the grass was comfortable enough! The main reason to stay at this great hostel is for the cultural interaction. Harriet has set up some great programs which you can participate in and which directly helps the community. Unfortunately I only had one night so I had to squeeze as much in...

The rooms and facilities are fairly basic for the prices. The wi-fi was off more often than it was on and taking a shower was a complete gamble with regard to water supply and temperature. On the plus side, they do brilliant work with local people that deserves to be supported and the nightly outdoor fire is a really nice...

A comfortable camp site where there is privacy enough and a pleasant and quiet atmosphere. We spent four nights there in our own camper. We went shopping in the city with two of their staff-members and then took a local cooking class. We had fun, learned something and had a remarkably good lunch. The movies about Dian Fossey and David...

Beautiful little hostel. So glad we found it. Cheaper than places in town and much better vibe. Staff can't do enough to help you and the general clientele tend to be really interesting. Definitely the place to stay near musanse. Only slight issue is that we had 5.15am starts and although staff sorted wake up calls and breakfast the nature...
