We stayed for one night on our trip along the Garden Route, the hotel is in a great location with amazing views, the restaurant is excellent with great food. The service is second to none. The room we stayed in was awesome overlooking the bay was spacious comfortable and really clean. Close to the wharf and Diaz museum.

Thank you Protea Hotel Mosselbay for a personalized, attention to detail accommodation. We were made to feel special from the minute we walked in the front door till we left. The good night card with details of the weather for the next day. The authentic chess set, the clearly marked DSTV guide, the his and hers magazines, the after dinner...

The hotel is near the harbour and very quaint. We had a duplex apartment with the bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The apartment was clean, spacious with a kitchen for great self catering purposes. very nice accommodation indeed. We had dinner at Cafe Gannet which had wonderful staff and the food was really good.

We stayed here three nights, having been through Mossel Bay a couple of times in the past. It's nice and central, with a good breakfast. The restaurant can get booked up for dinner in the evening, so consider booking if you're eating in. The food is excellent, but we didn't have a bad meal the whole time in Mossel Bay....

Great welcome with port or sherry! We were shown to a studio, which had a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom was down a flight of stairs with no handrail so we had to take care when carrying our luggage downstairs. Kitchen was well-equipped if staying there for a few days. Would not recommend for young children...

Very nice suite for all of us, very good service. The structure is a bit old but well maintained. Very close to the centre, but you do not need this to eat out; a very good restaurant is just there and simply gorgeous. The playground area is very nice as well.

The rooms are very nice, clean and well appointed. The tv wasn't very clear and not many channel options but we didn't spend much time in the room so this wasn't a problem. Free wifi worked well. Staff always friendly and accommodating. Perfect base for a holiday in Mossel Bay and within walking distance to the harbor.

Dear NeetsDegi Thank you for the recommendation, much appreciated! Excellent Service all around, warm welcome from staff! Selfcatering apartment was great, lots of space for a family of four. Kids had a mini jumping castle, safe place to play. Turn down service was a definite treat with Easter Eggs and a personalized note. Would definitely visit there again. Downside was you had to pay for basement parking, per day....

In this relatively small village, the Protea is probably the best place to be.
