The Santos Express is unique, which is why we chose it. And we loved it. The location is spectacular, with rooms looking right onto the beach. Rooms are small but clean and cozy, and the beds are comfortable. Plenty of space for luggage above and behind or under the beds. No internet or standard plug points in the rooms, sadly....

I stayed in the dorm of this lodge. I chose for this one because this is something different for once. There is not that much space in the dorm, but it was nice to have something different. The staff also are friendly and helpful.

If you love trains and you love the ocean, this is a perfect combination. More like backpackers but there are some luxury compartments as well. What makes this place special, is the staff. They are exceptionally helpful and friendly. They will basically do anything within their ability to assist you and make your stay a pleasant one. Do stop by...

The biggest problem with really looking forward to something is that it often fails to live up to your expectations. We booked our stay at the Santos Express months in advance and eagerly anticipated the experience of sleeping in a train on the beach... and it was all we'd hoped for and more. Our night here wasn't the quietest we've...

Only in town for two nights- only a twin available. It's a bit small but the backpacks did fit under the beds. Upon checking in we poceeded to drop the windows of the cabin and let the sound of the ocean put us in a coma for almost 10 hours. Same again on night two. Also, the bar has a...

Mom and I were looking for a place to stay that was cheap and affordable. We happend to stumble across this hidden gem down in Santos. We came to have a look and instantly fell inlove. Upon arrival we where greated by Sam. Sam showed us our room (coupe) but there wasnt much seaview and I requested if we could...

A very unique experience! Lovely beach view from my coupe. Staying in a train on the beach is really special. On the rough it side you need to share toilets and one shower between probably a dozen people, but that is part of a train experience. The service from booking, registering and straight through were excellent (Estelle and Sam).

Set on a beautiful beach we expected more, the rooms are as original train compartments, the beds are on the seats which are slippy plastic and hard, sheets and duvet were like new, but sliding doors are very old and very noisy, when ever the water is used along the train you hear it, the doors into each carriage are...

This is certainly not your average hostel. We stayed in the royal carriages, and while things were a little cramped and the bed was maybe a little hard, the location and the atmosphere made up for any little foibles we encountered. Restaurant served decent food and alcohol at a cheap price and there is excellent access to the beach. We...

Very good value for money - you get what you expect - nice comfy small room with shared bathroom. Kept clean. Buffet breakfast does the job and very reasonable considering price of stay. Excellent location and helpful staff. Lovely sound of the ocean when going to sleep
