I stayed in Moshi Green Hostel 4 nights. It is a very quiet place, a bit out of the center of town. It is 10-15 mins walk to the center if you need. The rooms are clean, beds are big and have mosquito nets, there is warm water. They can prepare a decent meal if you do not feel like...

I stayed here right before I went up Kili. I had not made any reservations beforehand with tour companies or anything, just had a few ideas from my friend who had been here last year. Annette walked me to the place, suggested places for me to eat lunch, waited with me while I exchanged money and she made a really...

My partner and our friend changed from an expensive hotel which our guides put us into to Moshi Green. This was the best decision we made! It was extremely clean and the food is amazing! After climbing Kilimanjaro we had plenty of dirty clothes and after a hot shower. Annette provided a very affordable and efficient laundry service which had...

Made Green Hostels my base while I trekked to Mt. Kili and safari. The breakfast was wonderful (a surprise since I didn't expect it). When I was there, there were a few blackouts and next time I was back the land lady made sure she got solar power generator so we will always have power. The rooms were spacious and...

I stayed year for a couple days to recuperate after my Kilimanjaro climb. The room was clean and spacious and it was walking distance from the town for souvenirs and restaurants. However, I booked online and I ended up paying part of the money online, however when I got there I was told I still owed the full amount and...

I stayed here last year and again this year because of the Kilimanjaro Marathon event. Although I've already written one review, I just wanted to add another, because I felt that this time I got a better feel for what the place has to offer. It really is ideal for being able to walk to the start of the Marathon...

I stayed here during some of my stay in Moshi recently while I was doing some volunteer work. The staff became like family, especially Jessica, the daughter of the owner/manager. The food was GREAT...I SO enjoyed the local Tanzanian food prepared by the wonderful chef. The hostel is clean, has beautiful, well manicured grounds and is quite and peaceful. It...

I stayed here during the weekend of the very popular Marathon event and had been told that it would be difficult to find any accommodation. I contacted Green Hostel just the day before the event by phone and was assured that there would be a room. There seemed to be some discrepancy between the website prices, the prices quoted on...

I went to stay at Green Hostels in September, I was there on and off for 5 weeks. I hadn't intended on staying so long but the mix of Mary's fantastic cooking, the huge outdoor pool 5 minutes away, the peaceful area just 10 minutes from restaurants and bars, and the family I found myself returning back every time I...

We stayed here since it was only a 5-10 minute walk from the start and finish of the Kilimanjaro marathon. It was of course full but a friend of ours needed a room so the 3 of us just squeezed ourselves in a 2-person bedroom and was fine. The beds, though twin-sized, are relatively wide and we were able to...

“The rooms in the back behind the main building have more privacy and are more airy than those adjoining the reception area.”

“Would suggest someone ask for a room down the hall a bit. My room was very close to the dining room, and if I went to bed early, could hear TV or talking going on in the dining room. Not a big inconvenience...I am just a go to bed early person and early riser the next morning.”
