This guesthouse is a small one with some nice details created by the owner. The city is a little bit to far from the city but for a cheap price they can organize a taxi with a pick up service back to the hotel. The breakfast is fresh and the most of the ingredients are selfmade, like the bread and...

Sandra and Frank are great hosts and go out of their way to make you happy. Its a pleasure to share their house . However apart from the cottage, the other 2 rooms area quite small and cramped and and suitable for single occupancy. The beds are a tad small for six footers and I had my feet hanging out...

Thanks for your review and kind words about our breakfast and sharing time with us. It certainly was enjoyable to have a couple of meals with you and hear all your Tanzanian travel adventures. We do value constructive criticisms regarding our services and amenities. The clean water leakage in the cisterns has been addressed, as were the doors (which were...

1. You get to connect with the local community in a very real way. 2. Delicious food and great insights into what else you can eat. 3. They know the country and the people; they'll help you get the best out of your trip. 4. They're also great tour guides (and they make the BEST safari lunches) 5. It's a...

We stayed at Sandra & Franks place in January this year. We had a few nights before our climb, a few nights inbetween and then a few after our safari as well. I think we ended up trying out every room, my favourite being the Safari Tent. Sandra was very accommodating and helpful, driving us in and out of town...

I have completed another visit at Tembo Tamu. This was my seventh stay at Tembo Tamu. I come to Tanzania once per year for approximately five weeks. Typically, I start my visit in Moshi for one week, travel in the country and return to Moshi for my final week. Tembo Tamu has become "home away from home." Frank and Sandra...

Tembotamu is a very homey B&B that provides a community atmosphere great for connecting travelers with other people passing through. We stayed in a room in the main house for two nights while hiking Kili and doing a coffee tour. The owner is very knowledgeable about local activities and willing to help out whenever needed. When we had difficulties with...

Had an amazing stay at TemboTamu! I only stayed one night on my way to a Kili climb but my experience was wonderful. Facilities we're very clean and and very private. Sandra's service was second to known and I truly felt at home instantly. She was extremely helpful in getting around the city and helping me prepare for my climb!...

Stayed here for 1 night but so relaxing it felt like a long weekend. My room was ensure and in he main house. It felt very private. Was welcomed at breakfast with a fantastic spread of fresh fruits, coffee, bread etc. I was the only guest so I didn't expect the same level of food etc as a larger group....

There are two things to note about this bed & breakfast: 1) if you're an American or if you have stayed at a bed & breakfast in America, this is not your typical b&b. It is not a historical home with antique furniture and fireplaces; and 2) This is not a five star hotel or even a two star hotel....

Sandra was the consummate hostess, providing comfortable accommodations and delicious meals, all for a very fair price. We worked out in advance with her our airport pick-up (unfortunately in the middle of the night), so we were aware of the surcharge. We enjoyed meeting her other guests, and dinner with everyone (very reasonable charge) was lots of fun. We were...
