The lodge looked like a welcoming haven with such well appointed facilities and rooms. And nice grounds. Beyond that the lodge was disappointing. The pool was full of algae. There were only 5 lounges by the pool to accommodate everyone who wanted to enjoy the pool. They ran out of pool towels. The restaurant menu was very limited and the...

We really enjoyed the lodge, rooms, shower and food as well as the friendly staff at reception, bar and restaurant. This was an excellent place to relax after the climb to Mt Meru and before as well as after the Kilimanjaro summit. We would go their again.

Weru Weru was the lodge we stayed at before and after our Kilimanjaro climb so we stayed in 2 different rooms. The rooms are big and the AC is good so we were comfortable. The hot water takes a long time to get warm and the showers were a bit mildewy. The food was hit or miss at the restaurant....

Included in the package for climbing Kilimanjaro as a base. Staff were accommodating of varying needs of the group and went to special effort on our return. Not sure if could spend a long time here but ideal as a short stay base for activities.

This little place was lovely and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The staff are what made our stay here special. I would definitely stay here again when we return for a safari. They have camels in the hotel, so you can pay to ride around the grounds. The only downside for me is that they have...

This hotel was included in our kilamanjaro package ran by Ashante tours. The staff are friendly, rooms are clean. The hotel has a Rasta tortoise running around, a heap of geese and some camels. The restaurant offers some decent food. We had our hiking clothes washed here and the cost was $68 US for the two of us but with...

You can't pass up a chance to stay at Weru Weru; the staff are 5 star, and the location amazing. From check-in through to saying goodbye, the friendly staff, wonderful ambience, and stunning location offer up a memorable stay. The food is first class, the kitchen spotless, the chefs accommodating. There is a friendly bar, where you can buy a...

Recently did the Kilimanjaro trek (via the Machame route) for 7 days and the 4 day Safari with Ahsante in October. The Kilimanjaro trek was fantastic, but the overall experience was dampened by a range of issues we had at the Weru Weru Lodge hotel (which is owned by Ahsante) and the Ahsante office. We experienced a range of issues...

The lodge is used as a base for climbers trekking up Kilimanjaro but I stayed there for about 1 week in June 2016 for a business trip. The lodge was not at all what I expected. The reception area and the rooms are poorly lit and gloomy. Very rustic and basic, so you either love it or hate it -...

A group of 24 of us stayed at the Weru Weru River lodge before and after our Kilimanjaro Trek. It was a lovely place to relax before we set off on our challenge and it was a real comfort knowing we would be returning there in seven days time. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier or more welcoming, and...
