My family and I visited this beautiful place after a day in the Ngorongoro crater. The place it self is beautiful with good food and good waiters. The view of the crater is fantastic. This place is very well worth a visit. Pictures taken from room balcony with phone in the afternoon. Sun rises over the crater opposite side.

Great hotel, beautiful views, wonderful food and entertainment. I cannot say enough about the hotel itself and the gorgeous grounds. Very impressive and well taken care of. Dining room and food was perfect. Beds, or at least the one I slept in, was terrible, very hard. Tried piling up pillows under me, which helped, but still did not sleep the...

Just finished a 12 day safari tour of Kenya and Tanzania and the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge tied with the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge as my favourites. The architecture is such that it blends right in with its setting on the rim of the crater. The views are stunning, and the are rooms quite spacious . The staff was very friendly...

This was not the most luxurious of the lodges we stayed at but made up for by the location and views and super friendly service. There is no pool - but it was noticeably cooler at the rim of the crater so I think it would have been too cold to swim. The room was spacious, clean and the bed...

Stayed here last night during Safari. Had an awful experience the previous night at Serena Serengeti so was a bit nervous. This hotel is perched at the top of on of the most spectacular vistas I've ever seen in my life. The rooms are ok, but the balconies are unbelievable with a huge deck overlooking the crater. The bar is...

This is definitely not a luxury hotel, so don't have your hopes too high on the amenity, but I have to say this is somewhere you cannot miss for it magnificent crater view and the dinner show - best dinner show I ever saw. There are drawbacks certainly - 1. this hotel seems to be a destination of many traveling...

This classic national park lodge is well sited, with terraces, dining and room terraces overlooking the rim of the crater at 7500' elevation. Probably built in the early 70s, all the building materials and furnishings are local - river rock exterior walls and hewn timbers and stick construction with African colonial touches. The great dining hall is similar to the...

Its mega expensive but if you like one of the best views in the world (the Ngorogoro crater) and champagne for breakfast it is a once in a life time (that we have done twice because it is so good). The bedrooms are spacious with a room safe, shower, and thankfuilly, no TV. Balcony overlooking the crater in all rooms....

Amazing location on the top of the crater. Good staff. Nice rooms and amenities. Food is good too. We had an enjoyable stay for amazing game viewing and worth adding a Maasai village visit nearby to your trip.

Lovely rooms and surroundings with views overlooking the crater from your balcony. If you have a powerful binoculars, you can see animals from your balcony as well. Large king size bed, desk, luggage rack, heater and closet area (it does get cold at night). Very clean room. Pleasant staff, Maasai market, gift shop. Buffet food was quite varied; quite a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Perched on the jagged rim of the crater, wreathed in morning mist, camouflaged in river-stone and cloaked in indigenous creepers, the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is a triumph of ecological and architectural fusion. Sensitively constructed so as to take nothing from its environment whilst affording endless vistas over the heat-shimmering reaches of the crater below, the clustered boulder-built buildings of the Lodge hug the crater rim, linked by rope-lashed timber walkways that skirt the buttressed roots of ancient, liana-hung trees. ... more   less
