As much as I respect hostels, this is really not ok!! Horrible dirty room with ' beds ' that don't even deserve that name. Best thing was that we had to get up at 01.00 in the morning to go see the Blue fire at mount Ijen... Try to find another home stay, this really is NOT an option!!!

We stayed here for a visit to Ijen. It was terrible!besides that the room was very dirty also the shower was dangerous. While showering there was a huge burst of flame from the thermostat! there are plenty of places to stay for this tour, this hotel is certainly not advisable.

Room has only a dirty bed and an embarrassing smelly bathroom. The dinner has been terrible dinner: it has one choice only. The staff is very rude and unpleasant. Crazy that Lonely Planet still suggests this disgusting location.

We stayed here for just one night, actually a few hours before we went to Ijen. It was awful. The room was really really dirty (and we have seen our fair share of dodgy places the last few years). The sheets had not been cleaned and everything else felt and looked dirty (as in months not cleaned). We stayed here...

Stayed for one night prior to Ijen hike. The food is ok. Strawberry juice is cheap here and there is free flow of coffee. I find the room spacious and the bed quite comfortable although it is a bit difficult to fall asleep during prayers. The sink is outside the toilet which is quite practical.

My tour guide did warn me that this place is really basic and he recommended it only based on its proximity to Ijen, or it would have meant we have to be up and about at midnight or even earlier. With hindsight - i rather wake up earlier after having a better rest elsewhere. This is unnecessarily grueling. The surrounds...

terrible homestay, We did not even dare to take the breakfast. They don't care about their customers. It is dirty, there was a dirty used toothbrush on our towels. The problem is that there are no other options in this area, so they are lucky to still have customers.

Based on all of the reviews, I was expecting this to be a horrendous experience but, like everyone else, didn't really have a choice. However, it was not nearly as bad as I expected. The rooms were simple but ours was clean. The toilet was fine. We had a sink in our room (rather than bathroom) so it was enough...

We booked a tour for the ijen hike and this was the only place we could sleep. Overall, the ijen trip makes up for the poor hotel, but this is still the worst place I ever slept. The rooms have no AC, are dirty and smelly. The sheets were dirty and the pillows moldy (!). Staff tried to help with...
