I stayed in this hotel over 2 period, on my second after I got back from Sabang, we got the room opposite our first room - and the room smells of smoke. What great about this hotel is the location, located just near Rex Culinary center and Penayoung wet market, it is easy to find meals. And the streets selling...

Right across the street is a night food market with a variety of choices. Decor is basic tending to drab but clean and well run. Layout is a bit strange here as well. Good location though and near Chinatown.

Very close to the city centre and the food was good. The staff are very helpful and we had a wonderful moment in Aceh. The only shortcoming is the hotel is quite old and perhaps need some refurbishment.

This hotel is an old hotel...but still comfortable. We had staying here for three night...and find it as pleasant place to accommodate for the price. The location was great as it is near to popular food court and the souvenir shop just next to door..plus you can find money changer within walking distance...The breakfast provided is great and enough varieties....will...

I only had a two night stopover in Banda Aceh after a visit to the islands. There are not alot of choices so chose Hotel Medan. I was most concerned about the reviewers saying the rooms smelled like smoke because I'm highly sensitive. The room was absolutely fine! The location was great and the staff helpful and friendly.

Good atmosphere. People on the streets were nice and playing checkers? Hotel reception and riksha drivers, all were nice. We had 2 extra beds in our room, of course with an extra charge, but at least we had a room, because it was fully booked. Only draw back is that going to a restaurant was dangerous because of some very...

Stayed at this hotel as we had to catch an early flight back. The room we stayed in was a basic room - had jug kettle, TV, towels and free WiFi. The room looks clean but the next morning I realized I got bed bug bites on my hands and legs. The entrance to the bathroom was a elevated step...

A good place to stay for a short visit. Located at the center of Banda Aceh. Close to shopping area and places to eat. Clean rooms though some ammenities are obviously not new (towels ans sheets). Spacious room with hot water. I like the breakfast buffet.
