The bathroom had a Backflow issue, and had a very offensive smell. The issue was never resolved. Apparently, the management knew about the issue, however, the resolution was to spray it with a room refresher. The setting of the hotel was very beautiful, surrounded by snow capped mountains.

We went there for dinner only on 3rd july 2023. The Entrance fees to the resort is Rs1000 per person. The walk from the parking area to the restaurant is rather long so better to get a wheel chair if you are a senior. The restaurant is on the 1st floor near the pavilion with a magnificent view of the lake. The food was good but the steak was well done inspite of repeatedly telling it should be medium rare. (Rs 5500 for two pax) Lot of displays of medals etc of the founder Brig Aslam. Place is good for a one night stay but is very expensive and booked months in advance

WORSE hotel experience, worse service, over priced food ( which wasn’t even nice), rude staff, no sense of respect or courtesy shown. Only plus was their location n views. Out of all services, housekeeping, internet connection & the boat services was the worse. To receive a towel took 18hours, instead of providing complimentary water which even a budget hotel provides you charge an excessive premium RPS350++ for 1L It is disheartening to pay a premium for a dining experience and be met with such unprofessional behavior. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was marred by the negative attitudes of the staff, which left me feeling uncomfortable and frustrated.

recently stayed at shangrila skardu and the experience left me thoroughly disappointed. The rooms were not only overpriced but also quite pathetic. The exorbitant rates did not match the quality or comfort provided. The swiss view room which they charged 50k pkr for was cramped, poorly maintained, and lacked basic amenities. The bathroom was missing tiles, the furniture was very poor and the floor tiles had stains. The food which they claim to be the best in gilgit baltistan is extremely overpriced and also made me sick. overall experience was far from what I expected for the price I paid. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

A large resort in a very nice location but extremely dated and overpriced . An executive room in a little structure had twin beds but no side tables with lamps and faulty plugs . Open stapled wires for WiFi and possibly electricity . Very old China and kettle . Poor quality of food compared to surrounding resorts . Needs extensive refurbishing and thorough cleaning . Drapes were dirty and smelled of dust . The life vests for boats were so dirty and wreaked of sweat . We’re never cleaned for the next guest . Overall experience was very very disappointing .

Shangri-la is great location, the views are so stunning, and these are the famous pics one sees of Skardu, the trail up to viewpoints where u get to see the 'heart lake' shape. The Swiss cottages are ok, preferably for families with kids. But overall everyone enjoyed their stay here and had the best Kashmiri pink tea at Pagoda restaurant 😊 For a 1 night stay it was worth it, relaxing, amazing views, lovely boat ride, just a laid back chilled vibe sitting on the benches outside and in awe of the scenery around you! Was a good stay, thank you and to the manager Saqib Nazeer and the staff at reception for welcoming us from South Africa and made it a pleasant stay!

Never ever go top Shangrilla Lake resort as I along with my friend visited there they charged us 2000PKR as entry fee and we were not allowed to make a complete round of the lake as the security did not allow us and that area was restricted. We then went to the Shangrilla hotel and asked for adjusting the same amount to our food but they said that this is only for entry(half entry) we were disappointed and knew from the behavior of staff that it's a group of retired forces officers. NEVER ever go to waste your money and time by visiting Shangrilla.

We visited Shangrila resort Skardu, this July! I must say everything, was absolutely excellent! We stayed in the Chalet, and everything was perfect. The operations manager Jamil Rahman, was super accommodating and helpful. The resort is being maintained very well, so it it’s not just the views that are spectacular, but the resort is fantastic too! Keep it up! And we are sure to return again too!

Stayed here with family in Swiss cottages The setting of the hotel and the grounds it sits in is amazing picture perfect, but the actual accommodation you stay in is absolutely rubbish. It's falling apart and outdated. Looks like the owner hasn't spent a single penny on accommodation itself since opening in 1983. There's no doubt the grounds and lake is maintained. Will not recommend unless you don't mind staying in 3rd class accommodation. Wont be coming back until sorted!!
