Detailed Reviews
Nice 4-star hotel with excellent views over the lagoon. Rooms are quiet and clean (and give a nice feeling). The hotel is a bit isolated, but Chetumal has a taxi culture. Take a taxi from place A to B, and you pay 15 pesos, if converted to USD or Euros, this still starts with a 0. The swimmingpool is a bit of a joke as it is in the shade the entire day.
The main problem with this hotel is that the breakfast is pathetic. Your choices are: (i) cornflakes, (ii) fruit or (iii) toast that has been put in a plastic container for half an hour. The face of every guest is changing when they see the breakfast for the first time. We ended up asking for fresh toast every day. On some occasions, it was re-heated toast.
The good thing of this hotel is the relatively expensive price (seriously). It is still cheap compared to Cancun, US or Europe, but the people who stay here are all business folks.....hence quiet (no drunk teenagers).
Summarising, four stars for the room and atmosphere, 4 stars for the location, 0 stars for the breakfast, hence an average of 3 stars.
Staff is a bit apathic and not spot-on. Breakfast till 10.00 means that you won't get anything at 10.10 (despite paying a lot of money for a couple of days).
Free WIFI in the rooms.

The room is nothing special, it doesn't even have a fridge, and it's very tight for four people to share a room. But the location is terrific, if you get one with a water view, that's the way to do it.

I travel to Chetumal a lot to visit family but needed a base to stay. I have tried many hotels in the city in the budget range as well as some more expensive ones and none give the same value for money as this hotel does, due to this I only ever book this hotel now.
Some of the rooms have been referbished recently and some of them are in a little need of TLC however the all of them have an amazing view of the Chetumal Lagoon and the hotel is very close to the marina and just infront of the ferry port if you are looking to travel over to the islands of Belize.

Friendly employees, rapid customer service.
Reasonable room rates.
Peaceful and quiet, actually close to a great Mexican restaurant.
The house keepers were friendly and respectful, I will surely be returning on my next trip to Mexico ..

+1
We could use the swimming pool after check out and leave the rental car for free at the hotel parking! That was super friendly.
Room is ok, could have used more fresh air. Bathroom is good. Overall some maintenance can make it better (swimmingpool and room). Breakfast in the restaurant next to the hotel is great, good service and really nice food!!
Boulevard is really nice to walk on. Easy access to Belize, returning was more difficult with a bad mood of the migration officer it took more than 2 hours to get a stamp in the passport. It is good that only one boat arrives a day, that men can’t handle more 😊

Great location and their Suites are decent, so it was good for the one night I stayed there. I drove and so I liked that they offered free parking. They also have free Wifi, a Pool I did not use and an in-house restaurant, which was surprisingly good. I do plan to stay there again when it is just for a night or two.

"Enrique" at the reception charged a priced he could not explain. His explanation was that there was a error on the system. He took my credit card but didn't charge it yet. On the next day though my bank contacted me that someone has done a card abuse. I didn't use the card for weeks before, so in my opinion there must be a connection.

My wife and I spent a night in early April 2014 at this hotel. The lock on the room door is operated by a key card and there was no separate bolt or chain on the door. For this reason, we took the precaution of putting a chair in front of the door and also strategically balanced a coat hanger so that it would fall to the ground and wake us if someone entered the room. We went to bed at around 9.40 pm. At around 10.00pm the coat hanger crashed to the floor and the chair was bumped by the door opening. I flew to the door in time to see it being closed as someone exited the room. After moving the chair, I got the door open and confronted a man in the corridor. He showed me that he had a key card and claimed to be from maintenance. He had no tools with him and we had not reported anything wrong in the room!! I reported the incident to reception but I did not understand the reply which was delivered in rapid-fire Spanish. I leave it up to the reader to decide…………

The rooms have definitely a lot to improve. The furniture was old and torn!
The rooms are clean and spacious but not luxurious at all.
Some pieces of furniture are not even worth keeping. People are nice and kind.
The restaurant next to it is excellent
