The "beach" here is surf beach but lots of sun and sand, so hotels shady pool is a nice alternative. The rooms are basic, but have a/c, hot showers, Sky TV and our room had overhead fan too. Not much around here, a few local restaurants. The towels and linens are very basic, nothing special, but adequate. Staff is friendly...

Spent an incredible weekend at Hotel Playa Linda! This hotel has all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay (air conditioning, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, quiet surroundings, swimming pool, WiFi, and more!). The whole family had loads of fun swimming, playing in the surf, exploring the local scenery, meeting new friends! While the hotel lacks a restaurant, the hotel staff...

Perhaps a little too peaceful - while we like areas off the beaten track Playa Linda is far enough off that it was difficult to find food! A couple beach restaurants in the area serve what we thought were overpriced (for what we got)dishes. Early risers - our only option for breakfast was flagging down a roving fruit truck. Our...

Hi KGGFamily Thanks for the review. We are sorry you were not happy the local restaurants you visited. We do know they provide Mexican style breakfasts of Eggs, Beans, Tortillas, and Meat. There are businesses toward town that provide barbecue chicken, as well in the evenings (7:00-10 pm) behind us a restaurant that serves Empanadas and Hamburgers. We will try...

The room was really nice. The view and peaceful silence was enjoyable. The hotel sells some snacks food and beers. There are a couple of restaurants on the beach walkable from the hotel. Kind of pricey but it was good.

We are US citizens living in Guatemala. We are required to leave Guatemala every 90 days for a passport/visa renewal. We scheduled a trip to Tapachula, but wanted to get to the beach. They only had availability for one of the 3 nights we were in Mexico, but we grabbed it. We arrived on New Year's Day around noon, checked...

We've been going to Playa Linda Hotel for more than more than 4 years. It's a small - 2 bedroom apt on the ground floor, 8 units on the second (4 beachfront) and one on the third. We tend to avoid resort areas on weekends and major holidays. As such, we have oftentimes been the only guests - a great...

When I booked the room, we used their online form. We received an email back saying it was booked for us. No deposit was needed (first strange thing). We took a cab from the border to the hotel ($500 pesos). Once we arrived at the hotel, I put my credit card and I.D. on the counter and he said they...

With almost 5000 Facebook likes we are very concerned when we receive less than the highest approval. Regards bookings, due to our location by the ocean next to the Mangrove jungle we have only Cellular access so do not have a Credit Card terminal - You may now pay via Credit Card which works through Paypal but there is a...

Playa Linda stands for beautiful beach and it lives up to its name. It extends for miles and miles and you are not likely to encounter many people there. The hotel has all the amenities except for a restaurant. There are a few restaurants close by. The hotel is apparently owned by a Canadian and the lady that received us...

We thank you for the review., while the hotel does not have a restaurant, please note the 3 restaurants beside the hotel provide room service to the hotel. I appreciate the mention of the website database not allowing booking for 2013, as most do reserve by phone I was unaware of the issue but am correcting now. Regards the owner,...

This hotel's website is in Spanish and English. We booked using their reservation form and got a reply in good English from one "Erika Graham". She got the dates wrong but another couple of emails sorted that out. When we arrived, we weren't expected until the next day and nobody could speak English. The hotel is 35km/20 miles from Tapachula...

This is a hotel for people, who like to have a little bet everything. Stuff is very helpful. Clean rooms. Nice swimming pool. Very big balconys with seaview. The beach is few steps from hotel. Lots of beautyful restaurants nearby. I liked everything in that hotel and nearby. Only bad thing was, that we had so little time in there.
