Stay was pleasant, place is gorgeous and overlooking the Caribbean sea. I was treated excellent. Staff went above and beyond. Food was delicious and manager was very acomodating. Place has a generator and water heaters.
All things considering, with Barahona, not really being a Tourist destination, this Hotel did it's best to accommodate our group of Ten. The Sunrises are Spectacular, too bad the beach is full of rocks and no sand since you can't go into the water due to the ocean eating away all the tiny rocks. Wi fi was available, although not strong of a signal, and the short staff did it's best to cater to our needs. Photographers dream sunrises.
Agent spoke decent English on the checkin, then no power, no water in a moldy room. Generator only ran briefly during the day. The hotel has no visible amenities other than an algae, green pool and dangerous cliff to the rocky shoreline. We left after 4 hours of no power, no shower, no toilet, no toilet paper and breathing mold in a stuffy room. Apart-hotel with no pots, pans, silverware, and nothing to buy at local store. At checkout, the English disappeared when it came time to credit our card. We will have AMEX reverse the charges.
This is a budget Hotel. They have 16 apartments right on the lovely Caribbean Sea. It is pretty basic: The apts have a small living/dining room w/kitchenette (not sure if it works because I didn't need it)... then a decent size bedroom -some apts have even 3 beds, two queen a twin. The rooms have a/c, hot water and a small TV. No problems with the power supply and they have wifi outdoors. The restaurant is adjacent to their round pool, which is nice. They could do a lot better if they wanted. The price is right as dinner and breakfast are included, but the menu is very limited, and they are pretty slow in their service. This is compensated by the friendly staff. But still I think that with improving this, they would deliver a better service.
