Pretty cheap prices for the nice location. No frills at all but if you are looking for a place to sleep and relax after a day at the beach this is really nice. Bring your bug spray as the grounds are tropical and mosquitoes were in the room. Free internet in the room.

I should have written this review sooner. My husband, two twenty something sons and I stayed at the Hotel Alegria for a week in June and had a wonderful time. We are not the all-inclusive type people and wanted a hotel with charm in a location that was convenient and safe. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. As was stated...

I stayed in this hotel two times. Each stay was about 5 weeks. It is a nice hotel with very nice stuff and also the owners who are arround all day help you if you have any questions. The hotel is situated at the end of Cabarete. It takes you 2 minutes to the supermarket and to walk into town...

I spent 3 days at Hotel Alegria at the end of August. Overall, I had a great trip. I'll try to start from the beginning and share the insights I gathered. First, when you are arriving to the hotel, just tell your taxi driver to keep his eyes open for Janet's supermarket. Right before the market, make a left, and...

This hotel has a good location at the end of the town. It was very quiet and the rooms are nice. If you walk to the beach (1 min) you can walk along the beach to all the restaurants at night and to all the sunbeds and surf-schools in the day (5 min). So the location is great. We booked...

AlegriaOwner, Owner at Hotel Alegria, responded to this review

The titles of these last two reviews included the words "at the edge of town". The last one said Hotel Alegria has a good location and the previous one complained that it is a 1/4 mile walk to the center of town. We describe Hotel Alegria as "centrally located". For those not familiar with Cabarete, perhaps an explanation is needed....

This hotel wasn't all so bad. It's just that it's 1/4 mile from everything and in the heat and humidity, by the time you walk all that way, your hair is wet with sweat and you can't see because the sweat is dripping into your eyes. I highly recommend upgrading your room to air conditioning. It was only $5 more,...

This was my second stay at Alegria and I plan to be back again next year. The owners and employees here are very friendly and the place has a fantastic Atmosphere. None of the fabulous Orr family who own and operate Alegria ever played defense for the Bruins, but conversely, none of them ever pulled a jersey over a guests...

I just returned from Cabarete and was very happy with my stay at Alegria. The staff were very friendly, the service was great and, as a solo traveller, I felt a great sense of security. Many of the guests I met were returning customers. The hotel is away from the noise of central Cabarete nightlife, but still less than a...

My niece had her birthday while visiting here on vacation, so I wanted to have a nice celebration for her. I contacted Silvia to see if we could have the party in the Alegria restaurant, and the response was “Of course!” We gathered around the bar as we arrived, to mingle and have a pre-dinner drink, and then moved to...
