The resort is located in a county community, which we really liked. The rooms were clean and mostly updated. The beds were comfortable w/ multiple pillows. The storage in the bathroom cabinet was minimal however extra storage was available in the bedroom. Only compliant about the room was the bar top was loose in our unit. We didn't have to use the fridge or the gas range. We purchased the all inclusive package and enjoyed the food and drinks. we were supplied w/ one bottled water each, which we refilled by water coolers around the resort. The Jacuzzis were not heated as expected which was a big disappointment for us and others. The staff was friendly and helpful, at times no staff was present at the front desk and communications barriers were present. Staff were amazing at working with us to understand our English and our limited French/Spanish to answer our questions and needs. The fire pit was relaxing in the back corner of the resort. The fitness center was available and could use an update. The private beach was not far away and in our opinion not very safe for swimming. The best beaches are Sosuo or Cabarete which a shuttle is available for transport a few times a week. The extra excursions were well organized and setup with comfortable transportation and meal. The bikes available were not really in working condition per staff only one was working. The four wheeler was not in working condition for use. Lastly the hour massages, were great and one was cut to 30 minutes which was disappointing. Overall, we give a high rating for this resort and staff and encourage updates for future visits/guests. Our party of four would most likely visit the area again.

We had a nice time at the resort. Everything was very clean, inside & out. It attracts some wonderful people from all over the world and the resort makes it easy to get to know others. There is adequate parking and it is in a quiet area outside of busy Cabarete. The food was good and we enjoyed the quietness of the area. One night, they organized a pig roast for all the guests (at an additional fee), which was fun. The nearby beach is mostly deserted and beautiful.

On the downside, the rooms and kitchen were a bit smaller than hoped, it slept 3 of us fine, but don't know how 4 would fit as advertised. The power went out 3x in a week, not related to weather: once for 3-4 hrs over bedtime, another on a Saturday morning (incl water), another for 6 hours. Generators then powered the rest of the hotel, but didn't support the rooms, which was frustrating. The common area music sometimes played until 11 PM at night and with thin walls, it was easy to hear. Luckily, we had a loud white noise machine. The walk to the beach was much further than anticipated and though safe, it didn't feel it the first time we walked it. There was some very friendly staff and some not so friendly staff.

Overall good, we had a good time with just a few bumps.

This was our 5th time staying at the Phoenix and what a time it was! We learned on our 7/14th day that our flights home were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the entire staff stepped up to help us and take care of everything we needed. They adapted the restaurant to comply with government regulations, Ronaldo let us know when they were making runs to Janet's grocery store, Nicolas wiped things down in the dining room, Chantal was online checking flights, Roudy, Chantal and Cali drove us to and from the airport 3 times as standby flights we hoped to get on were cancelled twice. Owner Benoit was available by email to provide answers to our questions.

We have loved the Phoenix Spa and Resort since the first time we arrived in 2016 and we love it even more now. The staff have become like family to us, guests pulled together to support each other through the stress of the crisis and we've made lasting friendships. The resort has become our home away from home and we are so thankful for this group of amazing people. When other hotels closed down and sent guests onto the streets with nowhere to go, The Phoenix did the opposite and stepped up. We can't wait to return when things settle down and we wish the best to our friends who live in the Cabarete area who find themselves in uncertain circumstances like the rest of the world.

This is place absolutely a junk hole. I booked this place for a full week and ended up staying one night only. The rooms are disgusting: stain in couch, towels stained, cabinets not secured on the walls, sheets had holes, there was sand all over the kitchen as it was not cleaned before we got there. They advertise free internet but they try charging you when you get there. The towels were ripped, and i could go on and on. The worst part is that one of their employees broke my car and no one took responsibility for it. This place is in the middle on nowhere!!! Its scary just getting there, and don't let them fool you with the "private beach" is a junk!!! Worst experience ever. Management I dealt with was Ben and Luc.

We arrived at Le Blanc/Phoenix Resort after staying a week at a very fancy all inclusive resort in Punta Cana. The food, customer service and beach at Le Blanc was far superior to the fancy resort! The owner and staff were extremely accommodating, they even fixed our rental car for us that had a mechanical issue.
We tried the all-inclusive option for the first 3 days, and then extended it for the entire week. The chef was excellent and they had a special raclette grill night for us, which was delicious and fun! The private beach, just a short walk away from the resort, was our favorite amenity, the water was warm enough to swim in and you could walk along the beach for miles. The staff made sure we always had everything we needed at all times. They packed a cooler for us to take their private beach.
The resort was very clean and well maintained. We want to come back someday!
Just be warned that driving your own vehicle in the Dominican Republic can be very scary as the locals don't follow any traffic rules.
We stayed in mid-January while the Dominican Republic had very strict Covid curfew laws. We were thankful that we had such a beautiful, clean and safe place to stay with excellent food and drinks and friendly helpful staff during these Covid curfew times.

We arrived in Cabarete on a Thursday night with no hotel reservations. Nothing we were finding on the apps looked like a good value. The places we stopped into didn't seem right either. As we left town to the East my son spotted this place on the GPS and we went to check it out. Once we looked around and met the staff we knew this place was for us.

The rooms are clean, spacious and secure. The air conditioning was perfect and adjustable by remote, the hot water was hot and there was a full kitchen. The bed was remarkably comfortable as were the pillows. The rooms were above what I expected for the price in Cabarete.

The pool area is a very unique rectangular design with an island in the middle and four individual jacuzzies on the side, however the water isn't heated and in December it was a little too chilly for me- but I'm from Florida. The dining area includes a bar and seats located on the island inside the surrounding pool. There is also a pool table with seating next to the dining area.

There is a beach you can walk to from the hotel but it takes around 10 minutes, better to drive if you have a car. The hotel is in an area around 1 mile East of the center of town where you'll find the party scene and the beach filled with people. The beach near the hotel was empty, but there weren't any chairs or services and the water was very rough with lots of driftwood- we didn't stay long.

We decided to purchase an all-inclusive meal package at the hotel and were very satisfied with the food. Everything was made to order from a very extensive menu. I had a French Onion soup that was delicious, several salads and lots of shrimp cocktails. Main courses included beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian options.

The staff at the hotel were unbelievably professional and helpful. Luke, the Manager deserves a special mention for going out of his way to make sure my family had a great stay. At one point during our stay we had the pleasure of speaking with the owner of the hotel by phone (he was traveling off the island); he also went out of his way to make sure our needs were addressed. All of the other employees were kind and attentive.

The power did go out momentarily, but the hotel's generator quickly turned on and powered everything including the air conditioning.

No question that next time we're in Cabarete we will be back to stay here.

Small units, really only sleep 2 not 4. Furniture old. Staff was friendly but not equipped to handle unruly and intoxicated guests even when those guests misconduct impacted others negatively. Bar Staff must learn to stop serving liquor to intoxicated guests. We experienced 2 such guests.

Thanks for your review we are sorry that your experience was not to your standard. All depend which unite you reserve we have studio that fit 4 but are smaller then the 1beroom. All our rooms, from studio to executive suite have 1soffa bed and a queen size bed, some of are room have 2double bed or queen or king size bed in the master bedroom and always a queen sofda bed in the living room. You should of ask for a bigger room upon check in .Phoenix can not be responsable for guest action .The all inclusive is not mandatory and if a guest decide to drink in there room and behave badly the security can remove them from the commun area. You should advise the security if anyone was bothering you. Unfortunately the staff or the management did not ear about any incident . Your review should be about the resort not about other guest. The people who read reviews like to ear about how is the food? Is it clean?how is the service?how is the pool and the commun area? How is the private beach? Is the resort reflect the picture that is on line? The resort has 3 year old and all furniture was bought new.

The resort staff are very friendly and they do the max to make you feel welcome. The hotel is not luxurious, but it is very pleasant. It is a small place and the atmosphere is very quiet, you sleep well, and the food in the restaurant is very tasty and the price of food and drinks is good. The workers are very friendly.

This is the 8th time we’ve stayed. It feels like our Caribbean home! We enjoy the freedom we have to either cook in our kitchen, eat at the bar/restaurant or go into Cabarete for a meal. The staff here work hard and always greet everyone with “Buenos Dias” We appreciate the option to pay weekly for the shuttle service into Cabarete and have never had to wait long, especially when we give a heads up via WhatsApp. In Cabarete we’ve eaten great food at very reasonable prices! Cabarete Coffee Company for lunch, Bliss (wow!) and Mesa Taina at Kite Beach (LOVE the Godzilla) From El Cabarete Hotel, this time we went to Ocean World in Puerto Plata and Laguna Gri Gri in Rio San Juan for a 1.5-2 h boat ride through the lagoon to Cueva de Las Collondrinas. We will be back to further explore & enjoy the beautiful, friendly Dominican Republic.

Thank you to our family at the El Cabarete for a beautiful vacation!!

We were impressed with the overall cleanliness, dedicated staff. Rudi, Ronald, Felix, Sharma, and especially Chickie the chef. Kudos to all. The vision of Ben the owner is evident. A cool small scale, relaxed resort. International clientele, just enough organized activities if you prefer, and interesting locals. Security was never an issue. We plan on return visit next year. All inclusive plan very, very reasonable, we highly reccommend it.
Ben, the owner was very supportive answering my many questions as this was first trip to the islands. He set up airport pick up, island shuttle, even horses to ride on the beach. What more could you ask?

Miami Beach, Florida
Downtown Cabarete is 3km from the hotel. The shuttle transports every hour on the hour. Yes, there is a fee. However, it is free to take you to the private beach. You can walk to downtown cabarete, it is about a 25 minute walk from the resort. The hotel has activities such as: pool table, poker room, horse shoe game, fire pit, mountain bikes, private cabanna with jacuzzi and more!
