Nice big rooms but dimly lit. Loved the huge King bed and bathtub. Also has frig, table for two and Windows open to interior. Not sure to what but could hear noise every morning of clanging and talking. The food was good - especially breakfast. We did wait two hours the first night to get everyone's meals in our party...

We stayed here 3 nights, in order for me to climb 2 nearby mountains. My wife always like a good swimming pool, and this hotel was supposed to have one. Unfortunately, they had converted the pool area into a dining area (completely covered the pool), and this would remain the situation for at least one week. I guess such things...

We stayed here 3 nights, 2 with a balcony and one night with an interior room. I recommend the balcony room as it is airy and open with lots of fresh air. It is on a busy road though so there will be noise until the town quiets down for the night. The service is impeccable. Wifi average slow but...

It is a reasonably modern hotel but is a bit run down. The wifi was quite slow and only available in the lobby. It is in a good location and easy to find. The staff were quite helpful. We were there with a group of 20 and they were prepared to let us pay individually for our meals. The hot...

Clean, quiet, and above all, impeccable service. Yes, the rooms are dim and our window looked out to a wall, but we weren't there for the view. This isn't the Ritz Carlton... this is a safe and comfortable place to rest in Huehue. A special perk was the local coffee they served at breakfast -- so good!

I was traveling from Chiapas with my dog, and crossed the border late in the evening. I stopped in Huehue to rest for the evening and I wanted to be in a secure, comfortable hotel. The staff accepted my dog and gave me a room near the entrance so she could easily go outside for a walk. I recommend this...

Small, but very comfortable and very modern rooms. Very friendly and attentive (perhaps even overly so) staff and great amenities. Best gym I've seen in any hotel anywhere - I was shocked by how nice and complete it was. Wide variety of dining options and the casino is small, but can make for a fun time. The only drawback is...

I have been coming here every year in Spring time for several days for years now, always having “my” room which faces the street. I sleep with the balcony door open and I can assure you there is hardly any noise, especially between about midnight and early morning where streets are deserted. As someone said there is a gas station...

Though I am Guatemalan by nature, I have never visited Huehuetenango. So, we decided to visit the indigenous villages of Huehuetenango Department along with my wife. Hotel Ruinas Resort, in my humble opinion, is located in one of the safest area of Huehuetenango city, and what I really enjoyed was the morning breakfast and service by the staff. If you...

I have stayed at Hotel Ruinas over a dozen times over the last couple of years while traveling to Huehuetenango for work. I give it an enthusiastic 5 stars - keeping in mind this is not a tourist-oriented town, and the rating is in comparison to other options in town. The service here is the best I've experienced in Guatemala,...

“Sounds like whether you get interior or exterior room you will have noise.”

“Ask for a room with a balcony - some of the interior rooms don't have windows and can become very hot and stuffy depending on the weather/time of year. If you're a light sleeper though, be aware the balcony rooms are definitely more exposed to the noise on the street - bring headphones, as these rooms are worth it for the air flow.”
