Every aspect of our very fast week spent here was great. We chose a non-Diamond Club swim-up room which was nice to have, especially in the evening. We had a problem with both sinks draining slowly. 30 minutes after contacting customer service, the problem was solved. There was a good variety of food, including ribeye steak, at the supper buffet. The a-la-carte restaurants had a good variety to choose and what we ate was delicious. The room and the entire resort was spotless. The grounds are very well maintained. The beach is very nice (although we do prefer the beach in Cayo Coco Cuba much more). There are many palapas for shade, but we did find them very close together. The entertainment staff do a wonderful job of keeping those interested busy. The night-time shows are typical of any resort and the performers are excellent. Thanks to Nestor and Juan at the breakfast buffet, and to Daniel at Hunter Steakhouse. By far, the best resort we have ever been to.

To start with, I have traveled to more than 40 countries and visited a lot of many hotels both boutique style but also the ones which belong to international hotel chains. So trust me when I say I was able to visit and experience a lot. A couple of years ago we have visited Royalton in Puerto Morelos (Mexico, south of Cancun) - the whole experience was fabulous. Having remembered great time there we didn't hesitate to choose once again Royalton chain when traveling to punta cana. Below I tried to break piece by piece different elements we experienced as a family. Family of 3 11 nights Diamond Club access 1. Diamond Club - preferred rooms with better locations - worth it - dedicated check in / check out - fast & simple especially if your travel was long - worth it - reservations in a la carte restaurants - not worth it at all! despite reservation you're still expected to wait in a queue. once you get in, you can wait for a first drink even up to 50 minutes as we did - DC pool - mixed feelings, on one hand the pool is nicely located close to the beach, on the other hand you'd expect some privacy / intimacy but unless you wake at 7 a.m and go book the sunbed yourself you might end up without any place to lay down during the day. Other pools offered much more room so - not worth it - Butler - in our case 90% of the communication was regarding dinner booking only so there's no value not worth it - Alcohol choice - the same drinks in DC bars compared to other - not worth it - If you ask for let's say baileys they will try and poor random substitute so you have to keep on reminding them - not worth it - "golf car transfer" between main building and DC buildings which you can use if you're feeling tired but you have to wait even 20minutes for someone to come and pick you up - distance to travel by foot 5minutes - not worth it - flowrider - you're told you can use it freely within DC membership. it appears you can but only for one or 2 hours a day and these slots are booked by other DC members also so at the end you end up in 40 people queue and have a chance to surf one, maybe twice for 5 secs each time. if you want more you gave to pay. why not offer completely for free for people who upgraded to DC 2. Room - we had upgraded to two bedroom luxury dc ocean view room - worth it definitely, nice view, plenty of space, two bathrooms and kitchen - worth it - daily room cleaning - very well maintained but I guess this is very much linked to the employee - Isabel you did great! 3. Food - not that many options in general - very long queues - tasteless fruits, awful shrimps apparently freshly made - be carefull my family got sick after eating there (you'll find plenty of reviews regarding this issue) - the employees in restaurants are underpaid and understaffed - you'll wait long to be served with glass of water, a pint of beer or a glass of wine no to mention in you want a double - juice station - one person working there with one juice squeezer to serve a hundred people - no further comment needed - if you come after first 30/40 minutes of the restaurant being opened, you'll see no choice and many of items will not be filled in again - a la carte restaurants - you'd expect some better experience and even more tasty food there. no such thing. the lady at the zen restaurant managing the traffic sooo rude and impolite - first time experienced sth like this; italian restaurant is called grazie - well there's nothing to graze for. take for instance spicy salami pizza salami was not spicy at all, but a random bite of the pastry and cheese could not be swallowed because of the amount of pepper. Our dinner in graze lasted not very long, we left almost untouched 5 dishes, the waiter came and asked how was it, we replied back that unfortunately not very good, his reply to us was: "ok ok" - can you imagine? 4. The beach - compared to hard rock hotel pretty narrow but also pretty well maintained - better choice of sunbeds for DC members compared to DC pool - prepare to be harassed on a daily basis by local people trying to sell you anything To sum Up: DC - apart from better rooms not worth it at all Food - massive disappointment Beach - there are worse for example at royalton splash / hideaway Room - some rooms are really nice, spacious offering nice views Cleaning - thumb up Service in restaurants - terrible Service at the bars - depending on the bar but overall ok Crazy river - not many pontoons Flowrider - disaster @RoylatonManagement please spare your auto responder which is copy paste to all bad reviews. If you really read them, my review would not be so negative as many of the assessments are consequently repeated. Not coming back.

WOW!!! I finally found it! A top-notch resort in Bavaro with the same high quality standards of cuisine, service, comfort and activities that can easily rival anything as resorts in CAP CANA & Uvero Alto!! Hand, carved, cooked to order steaks on the buffet, combined with an amazing pasta section, fresh seafood, and international cuisines that vary from night to night…. Did I mention that was a buffet? I’m not kidding, this buffet is as good as almost any of the Las Vegas buffets I have had. Fernando & Moises did a great job taking care of me also. Steakhouse Hunters was my favorite restaurant. Huge, tender, tasty ribeye. Had to be at least 14 ounces. Franklin and Raul did a great job the night I was there. Italian and Brazilian steakhouses were top-notch as well. Extremely friendly and helpful employees all day every day-definitely a huge plus for this resort… My butler Rosy checked on me from morning until after dinner pretty much on the hour to make sure that everything was in order and that I was happy. She is definitely a top-notch member of this Royalton team and I can’t wait to return in March and have her take care of me again. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Sandy and housekeeping did a great job every day. The DIAMOND club pool was overflowing with excellent service, and I’d like to mention the following employees… Sahorys was my favorite. Checked on me every 10 to 15 minutes and always brought exactly what I needed. Scarlett was amazing at DIAMOND Grill! Juan Carlos, Starling, Ezequiel, & Alexis always looked out for me also, and did an excellent job every day I saw them!! Arévalo was my favorite Bellman I have stayed at 15 all inclusive in the Punta Cana area and I have Royalton Bavaro ranked # 3 behind Sanctuary and Excellence Punta Cana. It could easily pass Excellence for number two if they would have an adult only section. Definitely prefer Bavaro over Uvero Alto. I like to be closer to the golf courses & my friends, who live in the area. One last thing, I have a degree in hotel restaurant management from the University of Mississippi, and I am a certified hospitality specialist. I know good hospitality & service when I see it and experience it and my friends, this place has it.!!! 👍🏻😎👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻BRAVO!

First time at a Royalton or at the DR. Was fantastic. Resort still pretty new, although could use some refreshing of some things. Food was good and lots of options. We especially like the Italian and the Brazilian. We did the Diamond Club and it was worth it. Its pool was the best on the property. Our Butler was Lucy and she was super helpful and hardworking. She really wanted to please us. Bladamir at the pool and Johnny at the spa were also great. Only complaints would be allowing non-Diamond Club folks to sneak into our pool. Why pay extra like we did if others could pay less and still use it. The beer selection could be bettter, no IPA’s anywhere. And no hard seltzers, which would have been great as they are a light drink made for hot days. Overall, a great stay. We will definitely be back.

We just returned from our third trip to this resort and had the best time. The resort is beautiful and clean, but what really makes it is the people. Our butler Rosa was wonderful-she made sure we had our daily dinner reservations as well as making cabana and spa reservations on request. She also made sure we stayed well stocked with snacks in our room. Ramon the bartender always has a smile for you and makes the best drinks! The vibe team (especially Jennifer and Yoel) had us participating with games every day. Fernando on the beach was very attentive with getting what we needed for refreshments. Sandy kept our room spic and span. There were other staff we didn’t get the names of, but so many helped make our stay worthwhile. The staff at the coffee shop, the restaurants, the spa, etc were just great.

Our family trip was wonderful! The resort is beautiful. The ocean, restaurants, and entertainment, especially The White Party, were great. The entire staff was welcoming, but I need to mention some in particular. Jorge was our attentive and fun butler. Ricardo, the beach beach bartender, and Fernando, the beach waiter were so wonderful to us. We saw our waiter Evert everywhere! He works so hard and always had a smile! Patricia at the Martini Bar was so attentive and fun! The rooms could use updating, and bathroom cleaning could have been better but not terrible. We all would come back!

We spent 3 days at this hotel, after staying in a smaller hotel in Punta Cana. Comparing both, Royalton is too crowded, there is line for every meal. Lots of tourist buses arriving all the time. The sun beds at the beach were very disorganised and dirty, like nobody was responsible for cleaning up at the end of the day. The food was ok, lots of variation, but the quality not always good. Like the ice cream in the cafeteria is terrible. The public that frequent the hotel is not very polite, makes too much noise, there was a “party” in the room next door and we couldn’t sleep because they were too loud. Not to mention that nobody is capable of reply an email we sent, several times, about some clothes we forgot there, we feel like after leaving, they don’t need us anymore.
