All of the rooms at the Lodge have been renovated and are lovely. The staff is great and very accomodating. Check in was quick and easy. Downside - it took forever for water to get hot in the shower in the morning. Shower in the evening or very early would be my suggestion. If you are looking for a fancy...

My husband and I decided to travel the Talihina Scenic Byway with friends and were excited to try out the lodge. Coincidentally, several hundred other motorcyclist had the same idea that weekend. The lodge handled the crowd very well. The staff were friendly and didn't seem rattled by all the people. The buffet was very good - not exceptional. Several...

Weekend Miata Club visit. North West Arkansas and Kansas City Crossroads Clubs. Good adjoining restaurant and the remodeled/redesigned lodge is fabulous! Rooms are large and well designed. The views from the mountain are beautiful in October.

The lodge was a very pleasant surprise. Renovated & reopened in 2015, everything is new, clean & comfortable. Room was nice - love the coffee in the room & bed was comfortable. Restaurant surpassed my expectations - huge menu so there is something for everyone. Particularly appreciate the option for half portions on many items. It isn't gormet, but it...

Nice, beautiful room. Although be prepared that there is no microwave in room or located in hotel to use. Also, no internet connection and it is in a dry county. Despite the couple of items we thought we would have, we turned on our fireplace and enjoyed the view from our room. Very relaxing.

We had previously stayed in the lodge before the makeover. This time we pulled our trailer up here and stayed in the camping area. The drive was beautiful from Mena. It was all so well kept an lovely. The spaces were easy to back into with asphalt and not difficult to level. There were nice picnic tables and fire rings...

A day trip from Hot Springs for hiking and exploring. I never visited the lodge before but I can tell you it's beautiful. The trails were in great shape and dinner in the restaurant that night was better than advertised. A buffet with jambalaya, bbq ribs and brisket. Hot and fresh. We wanted to stay at the lodge but it...

Food was excellent. Staff was wonderful. We only stayed a single night, but really could not have asked for a better experience. Lodge was recently upgraded so facilities are brand new. The front desk and waiters were very helpful and friendly. Housekeeper was kind and helpful.

Spent 2 days here to rest and enjoy! Is very beautiful and relaxing. The restaurant is very good, featuring a buffet for dinner and lunch specials. We ate the buffet one night and ordered from menu the second night. We enjoyed both! Very good value at $14.99. This included drink. The rooms were clean, large and had a nice view....

Great view, peaceful rest, quiet, beautiful, no fast pace. My wife and I really enjoyed staying at the Queen Wilhelmina lodge for two nights and highly recommend it as a quiet getaway or romantic time for married couples. Food at the restaurant was excellent. Have a nice trip.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge on 2,681-foot Rich Mountain, Arkansas’s second highest peak, reopened on July 1, 2015, following renovation. The lodge features all new windows that will be larger to frame the views from Rich Mountain of the surrounding Ouachita Mountains. Our visitors can enjoy the more wide open views from all the lodge’s public rooms, including the restaurant and all the guest rooms. The exterior of the lodge features shingles and stonework. The lodge was expanded from 25,881 square feet to 37,029 square feet to include the addition of a new hearth room with wood-burning fireplace, two additional guest rooms increasing the total to 40, and more space within all the rooms. Two guest rooms on each floor at the west end include gas fireplaces and spa tubs. Three are barrier-free to meet the needs of visitors with disabilities. They include Queen, King, King with spa tub and gas fireplace, and King Suite choices. The upstairs meeting facility increased in size and includes a balcony overlooking the south view from the mountain. Public restrooms are located nearby. An elevator was added to the lodge, as well as more stairwells. A wrap-around porch on the building’s south side will provide visitors with comfortable outdoor space. A new porch was added at the west end. And a new fire protection system covers the entire building. Other improvements include a new energy efficient heating and air-conditioning system, energy saving lighting throughout, solar hot water, and other such features. A new laundry will serve the housekeeping staff. Queen Wilhelmina State Park is one of the 52 state parks administered by the State Parks Division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. In addition to the lodge, the 460-acre park includes a campground with 41 campsites and a bathhouse; picnic areas; trails; and a seasonal miniature train and mini-golf course. Park interpretive programs highlight Rich Mountain’s fauna and unique flora. The park is on Ark. 88 (Talimena National Scenic Byway) 13 miles west of Mena. [For an alternate route from Mena or during inclement weather, go six miles north on U.S. 71, then travel nine miles west on U.S. 270, then go two miles south up Ark. 272.] ... more   less
