Stayed 1 night in a 4 bed mixed. Just one other person was in the room at this time, with 4 people and all the luggage a little bit tiny. No lockers! Leaves you with a weird feeling with all your stuff open in the room. Whole hostel can be noisy with more people around, walls kind of thin, washing bassins in front...

A short walk from the city center (but VERY steepy). Rooms are very small, but good enough to sleep. There is heating and hot water and a small grocery store less than a minute away. Helpful owner and staff. Very nice view from the commom area and very good breakfast. Instant coffee and tea available anytime.

The staff at Palafito Sur are really friendly, the atmosphere's good and the location is great with a view of the sea from the huge windows in the kitchen. My main concern, however, is that there are no lockers in the dorms. A girl in our dorm had a lot of money stolen from the room. There was also no...

Everything about this hostel is great! The only thing I can complain about is that there were no lockers to put valuables in. This only became a worry as somebody we met had money stolen from her. Apart from the that the hostel is really cool. Great position, gorgeous views, well equipped kitchen & friendly staff!

This was a bit on the pricey side for us but it was worth it... Pros - clean and minimal rooms - the double room downstairs had a great heater plus there was a fire in the entrance so it was easy to dry your wet clothes (and this is Chiloe so you will have wet clothes to dry) -...

Although it is on the pricier end, I found Palafito Sur to be an exceptional hostel. It is one of the cleanest that I've stayed in with a very friendly, bilingual staff. The location in literally right on the water with some great restaurants nearby, and is only a short walk (although uphill) from the center of town. The hostel...

Lovely quiet place. I went there in winter so it was pretty cold but the owner was nothing but helpful and made sure I was comfortable. Lovely view, laid back place. Felt very comfortable. I can imagine however than when full it must feel a little cramped. But overall great, helpful staff, clean and cosy.

My friend and I only had one night on Chiloé and we were so pleased to have spent it in Palafito Sur in Castro. The hostel is a 5 min walk from the main town but is right on the waterfront among a row of palafitos (brightly coloured fishing houses on stilts). It is very pretty and the terrace right...

The hostel is beautiful, with great views of the bay, cozy rooms, and a solid breakfast. It was certainly clean with functioning hot water, both pluses as well. You are given sheets and have to make your own bed, which seemed a bit out of character for a hostel that costs 14.000 pesos a night. I would have had a...
