Surrounded by forest, away from any urban noise or interaction you will find this marvelous place to rest and experience nature at its best. Staff if very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable. There is a cellular antenna some yards away; so you’ll stay communicated with the busy world out there. It is recommendable to ask for the package... More

Dearest friends. It is an enormous satisfaction to receive your beautiful comments of appreciation of your visit to Hacienda de La Luz . The Hacienda has been the inspiration of a lifetime including all my personal passions ,the preservation of the beautiful White Cedar and pines trees, the reservoirs with Trout and the restoration of the architecture of the building... We arrived at dusk, although the road to get to the hacienda is rocky in every sense of the word, it was well worth it! When we arrived the owner and his staff greeted us at the entrance...as we started to look around we only saw beauty, mountains, rolling hills, ponds, horses roaming, forest! The views in the morning were... More

The fine old buildings of Hacienda de la Luz are comfortably furnished, mostly with respect for the aesthetics of their era. They are located close to several lakes and small ponds in delightful countryside that harmoniouly combines diverse and impressive forests (including some magnificent oaks and cedars), meadows and agriculture. This setting is favorable to wildlife and there is an... More

Nice small hacienda that is still active as a bull breeding farm. Nice views and very quiet, Be sure to follow the haciendas notes how to get there for the last part because your GPS will not help you after El Oro / Tapaxco. Last 2 miles are more for SUV like vehicles and good fun driving. Best rooms are... More

This is probably one of the best kept secrets in Mexico's Haciendas. This property is nested right in the mountains, surrounded by a beautiful forest and lakes in complete isolation. The hacienda is very well maintained but keeps the old charm. The proprietor makes sure everything runs smoothly, from the moment you call to book all the way to check... More

The hotel is located in a small, recently restored hacienda. The setting is incredible in the highlands northwest of Toluca, just 2 1/4 hrs drive from Mexico City. The hotel personnel is very friendly and the food is very goog: regional plates made with ingredients from their own garden and surrounding villages. There are 8 rooms, 3 standard, 2 junior... More

We satyed for two nights and enjoyed very much thanks to the Owner Leonardo, who offered us hospitality and fabulous service. We had the opportunity to watch and participate in vaccination of bulls and branding with a red iron, which was quite rare experience particularly for my son. We enjoyed the beautiful nature surrounding the hacienda and horse riding. The... More

We prepaid our trip, a big mistake. The Hacienda itself is not a bad place but it is at the end of a long, dirt road that is not good if you don't have an SUV. The rooms are dark and dingy, cold and unwelcoming. Juan, the receptionist, is pleasant enough but incapable of dealing with customers. The hotel does... More
