This place is a good getaway on the weekends. The chill and bluish river refreshes ones body and soul after a tiring work week. There are several swings you could try along the river. Feel free to rent boats, life jackets, fins, goggles and other swimming apparatus at very competitive prices.

The last time I went glamping to Las Estacas, the glamping area was not fully open. This time it was much better. The lobby is separate from the hotel and the general camping area, which is nice. This time around, both the bathroom and the shower were working properly, which is a big change compared to our previous visit. I still question the price-value relationship as compared to the hotel or the regular camping. I guess it is a niche market. The particular tent we got was no longer in prime shape. Some of the zippers were impossible to close because the tent is no longer properly positioned, the mesh door was crudely mended, and the electric outlet left part of a zipper completely un closeable. The plants around the tents are nice, but they do attract a lot of mosquitoes. Don't forget to get a bug repellant.

I went to Las Estacas for an Open Water diving course at the dive shop and was trained by Lamberto Rosini. The course was excellent and features a great price-quality result. We only took two days (half-days, actually) and both Lamberto himself and his team were thorough and careful in teaching me and I was very happy when given my certificate after two days of training. Diving in Las Estacas is a beatiful experience in itself, much better than diving in some pool! The course is all-inclusive with top-quality equipment and it included tons of cool underwater photographs as a gift, which was much appreciated! PS1: Las Estacas also offers a Discover Scuba Diving tour for which no certification is required and comes at a very competitive price of US40 for one hour. I took it twice before getting certified and I was very pleased with it. PS2: if you're doing a 2-day course you can pay for the overnight camping instead of paying two individual entry tickets (sadly not included in the course cost), and save a wee bit!

Escape from the hectic and chilliness of the city, it is the best place to have a relaxing warm ambience in the winter. We travel to this park from Mexico City early in the morning and it takes us about 3 hours drive. Entry fee is MXP375 for adult and MXP235 for kid. There are dedicated car parks in front of the entrance. Several activities can be done inside the park area like picnic, swimming in the river, scuba diving, camping, etc. Famous for its blue-greenish stream, you will walk by the hanging bridge passing the river. There is one spot which is the deepest along the river, Poza Azul with 8m depth.
