We spent three nights on Koh Thmei with Kavita and Michael. When contacted via e-mail, Michael was very helpful with the travel arrangements. We chose to take a taxi from Sihanoukville (25$), followed by the boat (7.50$ per person). Everything was well organised and we arrived safely on the island. The bungalows are very basic but with running (cold) water.... More

We stayed in a family bungalow which comfortably fitted a family of 5. The amenities are basic and it was pretty hot, but the total exclusion and beautiful surroundings were just what we wanted. Our children loved the 'camping' feel and spent hours exploring the beaches and jungle. The staff, most of whom are volunteers, were very helpful and friendly.... More

We liked the bungalows and the restaurant. You have a huge mosquito net around your bed to protect you from the numerous insects. Two hammocks and chairs on the balcony and huge beach chairs to relax in the sun. The shower is cold water only. Unfortunately the water from tap and shower was really salty because of a long dry... Really basic bungalows with less comfort and facilities. The food was good but expensive. Unfortunetaly, the management would not provide any possibility to store own drinks in the fridge. Overall, the management did not seem to be keen on helping. For the guests staying the internet was not available. Getting there and back costs 7,5USD per person per way (15... More

I guess I viewed our upcoming stay here with rose tinted glasses!! A 3 night stay on an idyllic island within a national park had to be wonderful - hadn't it??? I should have studied the reviews in more details and understood the ramifications of occupying what was little more than a shed in more detail. There were absolutely no... More

Lonely Planet describes this place as being 'hard to reach'. 30 minutes in a taxi from the airport, and then a one hour boat ride on the resort's own boat. We arrived at night which made the journey seem quite exciting with the spray splashing our faces, however the journey is well worth it. We were met by a group... More

After a 4 hour cab ride to a dock in a tiny fishing village, and an hour boat ride (all of which was organized for us by the resort), we arrived at Koh Thmei resort. Pure tranquility - fantastic views, good food, and comfortable cabins. If you are looking for "luxury", this is not your place - which should be... More

Long way to get there, but the trip was easily organized. Once there nobody said hi or gave us any information about other than how you should note down your orders. No info about jungle paths, walks or snorkeling trips. Had to ask about everything which seemed to bother the not so friendly owners. Luckily the volunteer workers were nicer.... More

An outstanding setting combined with wonderful hospitality. The owners clearly care about the local environment and their staff, and it shows in every aspect of the resort and in every interaction with the people who work there. The bungalows are simple and clean--no frills, but more than adequate. The central bar and restaurant building provides a relaxed and comfortable setting... More

Isolated, peaceful, beautiful, relaxing, charming and a great all-round experience. Basic but functional good sized huts close to the ocean. Power available first thing in the mornings And after dark. Very welcoming owners who were always available and good to chat with. We also played cards with them on a couple of nights, well stocked bar and kitchen, prices were... More

“Our bungalow was right beside the restaurant, so it was slightly louder at certain points, but never anything too crazy. If you want it to be super quiet, see if you can get one of the bungalows father down the beach”

“Every bungalow faces the sea. If you are looking for real peace and privacy, make sure that no family with small children stays in the bungalow next to you as the bungalows are very close-by.”
